360.Chapter 360
The staff exchanged glances. They thought, ‘Brittany almost never greeted guests herself since Oceanview Club opened. It’s obvious that Mr. Foster’s guest is someone special.’
Not long after Derrick stepped into the private room, Easton showed up.
“Please, have a seat,” Derrick said.
“So, Mr. Grant, you wanted to meet tonight to talk about the kid’s custody, right?” Easton said, his tone calm but his eyes sharp.
Derrick shook his head. “There’s nothing to discuss.”
Easton poured wine into his glass. “Then what’s the real reason you asked me out tonight?”
Derrick picked up his glass, smiling. “I just wanted to tell you about what Sophia went through in Japoria.”
Easton’s eyes darkened. “If you’re here to talk about how you two got together, you can stop now. I’m not interested, and I don’t want to know.”
Derrick set his glass down, crossed his legs, and a sly, knowing smile crept onto his face.
He said, “Mr. Foster, you really don’t need to be so hostile toward me. Honestly, I might hold a higher place in Sophia’s heart than Julian ever did.”
Easton slammed his glass down, his voice sharp with irritation. “Derrick, if you’re here just to provoke me, then do us both a favor and leave.”
Derrick let out a soft chuckle, finally dropping the teasing. “Easton, people have it all wrong about me and Sophia.”
Since Easton didn’t respond, Derrick continued, “We’re siblings, for real.”
Easton blinked, stunned. “Wait, what?”
Derrick took a sip of his wine. “Victoria is my mom, which makes her Sophia’s aunt.”
Easton was genuinely surprised. He thought, ‘Wait, wasn’t Ms. Roth supposed to leave home years ago? Turns out, Derrick is her illegitimate son.
‘And that means he’s actually Sophia’s elder cousin.’
“Not feeling so hostile now, huh?” Derrick said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Easton couldn’t help but feel a wave of awkwardness.
“Easton, I know you don’t want to fight Sophia over Lucas’s custody. If you truly care about her, you shouldn’t be using the custody battle to pressure her,” Derrick said.
When Derrick brought up Sophia, he got serious all of a sudden.
He added, “From being pregnant to giving birth, Sophia was completely alone in Japoria. It was hell for her.
“The night she went into labor, she was in so much pain, and there was no one by her side. It was pouring rain, and the wind was howling. She had no choice but to drive herself to the hospital.
“The rain was so heavy that her car skidded and slammed right into a streetlight. If Benjamin hadn’t happened to pass by and save her, you might never have seen Sophia or Lucas again.”
Easton was surprised to know that it was Benjamin who saved Sophia and Lucas.
He thought, ‘No wonder Sophia stepped up and begged me to cut Apex Trading some slack.’
Easton knew just how much Lucas meant to Sophia. Back at the cliff that day, she’d rather risk her own life than lose her child.
Just thinking about how Sophia had risked her life to bring Lucas into the world made Easton’s heart ache.
He’d always thought he was the one suffering, hurt by all those years of secrets. However, now, hearing what she’d gone through, he found himself really ridiculous.

360.Chapter 360
Easton finally understood why Sophia always pushed him away and why she never changed her mind about him, no matter what he did for her. She’d never once thought about coming back to him.
It was because he didn’t deserve her.
