Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 361

361.Chapter 361

As expected, Derrick didn’t mention anything about Lucas’s custody that night. Instead, he just chatted about all the little things from Sophia and Lucas’s life in Japoria.

As Derrick was about to leave, Easton called out to him. “Derrick, thank you for taking such good care of Sophia and Lucas all these years in Japoria.”

Derrick smiled slightly. “She’s important to me. It’s only right for me to look after her. I told you all this tonight because I want you to understand just how important Lucas is to her.”

Easton stood up, his gaze unwavering. “I know all that, but I’m still not giving up custody of Lucas.”

This was the only way Sophia would never leave Jenston. With Lucas between them, no matter how much she tried to push him away, she would never be able to cut him out of her life.

Derrick was silent for a moment. “I just hope you’re not going about this the wrong way.”

At six in the morning, Easton arrived at Remony Medical Center to check on Lucas. When he walked into the room, he saw Sophia resting her head on the edge of the bed, fast asleep.

He picked up a thin blanket from the couch and gently laid it over her. Then, he reached out and softly brushed her hair away from her face.

Sophia’s eyelashes fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes. Easton stood by the window, his figure blocking the morning light and casting a broad shadow over her.

“Go sleep on the couch. I’ll watch over Lucas,” Easton said softly.

Only then did Sophia realize it was Easton who had come in.

Sophia glanced up at the IV drip above the bed and shook her head. “No, it’s almost finished. I’ll need to take him for some tests soon.”

Just as Easton was about to say something, Eleanore came in with a nurse. “Good morning, Mr. Foster, Ms.

Roth.”

Sophia quickly said, “Good morning, Dr. Keats. Lucas didn’t have a fever last night, just a bit of a cough, and he didn’t sleep too well.”

Eleanore reassured her, “That’s totally normal. Since he’s so little, even a minor bump can throw things off for a bit. No concussion, so once the cough eases up in a couple of days, his sleep should get back to normal.” Sophia finally felt a weight lift off her shoulders.

After Eleanore left, Annie came by and was taken aback to find Easton also in there.

Annie thought, ‘Did Easton really give up fighting Sophia over custody?’

But then she remembered Julian had just mentioned at home that Derrick had gone to talk to Easton last night, and Easton had made it clear he wasn’t backing down on custody.

Annie walked over, grabbed Easton by the arm, and pulled him out of the room, her voice edged with frustration. “Easton, do you have any idea how long Sophia cried after you left last night?

“Why are you so set on fighting her for custody? You-”

“Annie, this is between me and her. I don’t want you or Julian getting involved,” Easton cut her off, his voice

cold.

“Easton, Sophia-” Annie started, but Easton didn’t let her finish.

Sophia heard them talking outside and immediately opened the door, her face blank. “Annie, something urgent came up at work. Can you watch Lucas for me today? I’ll come back tonight to be with him.”

Annie looked at Sophia, saw she wasn’t upset at all, and nodded. “Sure, go handle your stuff. I’ve got Lucas covered.”

Sophia didn’t even glance at Easton as she walked out.

Annie turned to Easton, her voice just loud enough for him to hear. “Seriously, Easton, is this your idea of winning her back? No wonder you’re still single!”

With that, she went back into the room and closed the door.

Easton just stood there, in silence.
