Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 362

362.Chapter 362

After leaving the hospital, Sophia swung by her apartment in the university district to grab her laptop and then headed straight for a café near Crestview.

“Jason, sorry for making you wait,” Sophia said as she walked in.

“Evan, grab a seat. I was hoping you’d handle all this when you got back to Japoria, but since you bailed at the last minute, I had to come myself,” Jason said.

Jason carefully stirred her coffee and slid it over to her.

“Thanks,” Sophia replied.

Sophia opened her laptop. “Things are a bit messy at home right now, so I’m stuck here for a while. You’ll have to handle both sides for me.”

Jason grinned. “With what you pay me, I could run marathons and still not complain.”

Sophia gave a soft smile. “Let’s go over the design for Virginia’s hotel chain. I’m thinking of adding this here. From what her secretary told me, this is pretty much what she wants.

“When you submit the plans, be sure to mention that this part was added later, according to their request.”

Jason diligently took notes as Sophia spoke.

By the time they were almost done, it was already pushing one in the afternoon.

Sophia checked the time. “Jason, let’s go. Time for you to try some of Jenston’s local specialties.”

Jason followed her to one of Jenston’s most famous spots for local cuisine.

Sophia ordered several house specialties, and seeing Jason dig in so happily, even her own appetite started to pick up.

After the meal, the waiter brought out two bowls of dessert. Sophia blinked in surprise. “Excuse me, we didn’t order these.”

The waiter replied politely, “Mr. Hayes asked me to bring them over.”

‘Mr. Hayes? Frank?’ Sophia wondered.

Just then, Sophia glanced up and saw Frank walk in. “Sophia, hope I’m not intruding?”

Sophia hadn’t seen Frank since that night when he suggested they get married and she turned him down.

He’d been calling her every other day, and even tried to track her down when she disappeared for a few days. So, bumping into him like this, totally unplanned, was kind of awkward.

Frank was always good at knowing when to show up and when to give people space. He noticed Sophia as soon as she walked in, but didn’t come over right away. He waited until they were almost finished eating before finally coming over.

Sophia stood up and quickly introduced Jason.

Frank greeted Jason with a handshake. Noticing the time, Jason said he had to hurry and catch his flight back to Japoría.

Sophia had already called Emily to drive Jason to the airport. Once they left, she got ready to head back to her place near the university district.

“Sophia, let me drive you home,” Frank offered.

Sophia was about to refuse, but she couldn’t say no to him again. He was just too kind. So, she nodded and accepted.

When they reached her apartment building, Frank parked, picked up her laptop, and walked her up to the building.

“Sophia, I’m really sorry about bringing up the whole marriage thing before. I didn’t mean to put you in an

awkward spot,” Frank said.

Sophia shook her head. “Frank, don’t worry about it. I know you were just trying to help me and Crestview get through a tough time.”

Frank knew Sophia had always turned him down, but now that they’d finally talked things out, he knew he had to take things slow from now on.

Frank didn’t care who Lucas’s father was. He’d always cared about Sophia, and nothing else mattered. No matter how tough things got, he was determined not to give up.

After Frank left, Sophia was about to step into the elevator when someone suddenly yanked her by the waist and dragged her into the back stairwell.

Sophia screamed in shock, barely had time to react before Easton had her pinned against the wall.

Easton’s voice was cold and menacing, right by her ear. “Sophia, why did Frank ask you to marry him? Tell me. Did you say yes to him?”
