Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 364

364.Chapter 364

364.Chapter 364

Easton scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “So, what, you’re gonna marry Frank and team up with him to take my kid away?”

Sophia’s mind went totally blank when she heard that.

May had told her that the best way to win custody was to get married again and give Lucas a stable home.

Plus, Lucas had always grown up with his mom, and judges usually didn’t like to disrupt a kid’s life if he had always been with his mother.

That way, she’d have a better shot than Easton.

May had even said that Frank was a pretty solid choice.

But Sophia had turned that idea down flat. From the day she got divorced, getting married again was the last thing on her mind.

Seeing Frank today, guilt gnawed at her. No matter what, Frank had always been nothing but good to her, back then and even now.

That’s why Sophia didn’t want to take advantage of Frank. It wouldn’t be right.

So, when Easton suddenly brought it up, Sophia was caught off guard. She hadn’t expected him to know about the way she and May had considered fighting for custody.

Sophia picked up her laptop bag from the floor and gave him a frosty glare. “Think whatever you want.”

“Sophia, with Frank’s skills, do you really think he’d choose you over running his family’s company?” Easton sneered.

Sophia was both annoyed and angry. “Easton, what are you trying to do?”

“What do you think I’m trying to do? Sophia, you know exactly what I want. Right now, all I want is you and our son.” Easton stepped forward, seized her wrist, and yanked her right up to him.

Sophia let out a cold laugh and yanked her hand free. “Easton, do you honestly think that could ever happen?”

“Sophia, you’ve always doubted me and Stella. I never explained, because back then-” Easton said, his voice low and tense.

“Easton, just stop! I don’t want to hear another word about you and Stella. You treat love like it’s just something you can pick up and drop whenever you feel like it. Maybe you really do like me right now, but what

about later?

“If you meet someone else, are you just going to change your mind again? Stella is the best example. Whether I trust you or not doesn’t matter.

“What matters is, can you honestly say you never had feelings for her?” Sophia snapped, her voice shaking with anger.

She thought, ‘If you didn’t, then what was all that tolerance and indulgence you showed her all these years?’

Stella was one example, and Sophia herself was another.

All those promises he made were broken just like that by him, as if they never mattered at all.

Sophia pulled her hand away from Easton. “Easton, don’t bother telling me about you and Stella. I couldn’t care less. Our marriage was over six years ago.

“When we were married, you hated me. You never even tried to understand me, so what’s the point of explaining now?”

Easton wished he could tell Sophia that Stella had fooled him for years, making him think she was that girl from the nursing home all those years ago.

What he really wanted to say was that his heart had never changed. The only person he’d ever loved, and the only one he wanted to marry, was her. Always her. Sophia.

364.Chapter 364

But hearing Sophia say all that made Easton realize just how much of a jerk he’d been to her back then.

Over the years, he’d gotten her all wrong, over and over again. He said things that cut deep, and did things that

broke her heart.

She had every right to resent him, to be angry with him.

Maybe he really didn’t know how to show Sophia he cared. He’d always tried to control her, thinking if he just kept her close, she’d stay.

But all it did was hurt her more, driving her farther away every time.

Just thinking about it made Easton’s heart ache.

What he wanted wasn’t just to have Sophia by his side. He wanted her heart.
