365.Chapter 365
Sophia grabbed her laptop and held her torn shirt together, the one Easton had just ripped. She was about to leave the stairwell when Easton’s deep voice came from behind her.
“If I don’t fight you for custody, would you let Lucas know I’m his father?” Easton asked.
Sophia was caught off guard and stopped in her tracks, but she didn’t turn around. After a moment of silence, she said slowly, “Easton, no matter what, you’re Lucas’s father.
“You have the right and the responsibility to take care of him. I’ll arrange for you and Lucas to meet soon.”
With that, Sophia walked out of the stairwell and pressed the elevator button.
Easton felt completely drained, like all his energy had vanished. He stood in the stairwell for a long time, lost in his thoughts, before it finally hit him that he should leave.
He’d barely gotten into his car when his phone rang. It was Allison.
“Mr. Foster, I’m back in the country. Are you free tonight? Ryan and I were thinking of grabbing a drink,” Allison said.
Easton rubbed his temples. “Not tonight. Let’s talk when I’m back at the office tomorrow.”
After hanging up, Easton gave the apartment door a long, lingering look.
‘Sophia, one day, you’ll forgive me, won’t you?’ he thought to himself.
At Jenston International Airport, Allison just landed. She waved and called out, “May, it’s been ages! I can’t believe I’m seeing you here.”
Allison never thought she’d run into May the moment she landed in Jenston for my new job at headquarters. May was just as surprised, her face lighting up as she hurried over and pulled Allison into a big, happy hug.
“Hey, Allison! Long time no see,” May greeted her warmly.
She glanced at the luggage behind Allison, raising an eyebrow. “Doesn’t look like you’re here for a vacation in Jenston.”
Allison hooked her arm through May’s. “The big boss sent me back from Menolia to work at headquarters.”
May looked genuinely surprised. “Easton was the one who transferred you?”
Allison nodded.
May had known Allison for years, and she knew Allison was the head of the legal department at an energy company under the Foster Group in Menolia.
‘Allison’s whole family was in Menolia, and she was born there, so May never expected Easton to transfer her
back to Jenston headquarters, let alone that she’d choose to leave her home country.
“Looks like you’ve been killing it at work these past few years, Easton must think highly of you to bring you straight from the branch to headquarters in Jenston,” May said with a grin.
At the mention of Easton’s name, Allison’s cheeks flushed just a little. She gave a shy smile. “It’s really nothing. Honestly, it’s only because of my father that Mr. Foster gave me this opportunity. But compared to you, May, my abilities don’t really compare.”
May just shook her head with a smile. “Has your dad retired?”
Allison nodded. “Yeah, he retired last year. Mr. Foster moved most of the research center’s products back here for development.
“The tech in Menolia is top-notch now, and after working his whole life, it’s finally time for him to kick back and enjoy life with Mom.”
May and Allison first met online in an industry group chat. They butted heads at first, debating a murder case

that happened overseas a few years back. Each had their own take.
But after May’s professional breakdown, Allison had to admit she was impressed. After a bunch of group chats, they started messaging privately on WhatsApp as online friends.
