Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 367

367.Chapter 367

367.Chapter 367

Allison had been hoping to use this chance to finally meet Ms. Roth, the woman who, even after splitting with Easton, managed to push her biggest rival, Stella, out of the game.

A while back, she saw people gossiping in the Foster Group’s office chat, saying Easton might be getting back together with his ex, Sophia, and that’s why Stella got the boot.

That news hit her hard for days. But then Easton called, telling her he was about to go head-to-head with Sophia over custody of their kid, Lucas, and wanted her back in Jenston ASAP to take up her new post.

Suddenly, she felt like she had a shot again.

But now Easton was telling her to forget it, leaving her totally at a loss.

Ever since she joined Foster Group, Allison had always known when to step up and when to step back. She never poked her nose into things, and if Easton said so, she just focused on her own work.

She nodded, picked up the files Easton handed her, and walked out of his office.

As for learning more about Sophia, she knew she’d have plenty of chances.

The day after May got back to Jenston, she headed straight to Crestview to see Sophia. It was Sophia’s first day back at work after her vacation.

Emily spotted May by the elevator. “May, I don’t know you’re back!”

May smiled warmly and nodded. “I brought some snacks for everyone. Help yourselves.”

Emily happily took the cake from May. “Thanks from all of us, May.”

When May walked into Sophia’s office, she saw Sophia hunched over her work, totally focused. She smiled and teased, “Sophia, since you stepped back from the VP role, you seem even busier than before.”

Sophia looked up, adjusting her glasses. “Hi, when did you come back?”

May replied, “Easton’s trying to take away Lucas. How could I possibly stay abroad with all that going on?” Sophia lowered her head and kept working on her design, her tone calm. “He’s given up on fighting me for Lucas’s custody.”

May raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

Sophia just shrugged. “Yeah.”

May snorted. “Maybe he’s not totally heartless.”

Sophia put down her pen and took off her glasses. “But for Lucas’s sake, I’m planning to sign an agreement with Easton so we can co-parent him.”

‘May nodded. “Honestly, while I was on the plane, I was already thinking this might be the best way to settle things.

“After all, our main goal is to make sure Lucas doesn’t get caught in the middle. He’s growing up, and he’s even more sensitive than we realize. Having his dad in his life is something he truly needs.”

Sophia understood Lucas better than anyone. She could see his attachment to his father in every drawing he made and every word he spoke.

May had been working at Crestview these past few days. Besides handling the legal affairs, her main job was to help Sophia put together a co-parenting agreement for Lucas.

As the workday was winding down, May got an invitation from Allison. But since it was the day Lucas was getting discharged from the hospital, May had to turn her down.

She told Allison, “Let’s hang out once I get through all this stuff on my plate.”

Sophia and May drove over to Remony Medical Center, and as soon as they got out of the car, they ran into Easton.

Gordon stepped up and greeted them, “Hey, Ms. Roth, May.”

Sophia and May both nodded slightly, and the four of them walked into the elevator together.

Easton stood next to Sophia. “Sorry, I didn’t give you a heads-up before coming to see Lucas.”

Sophia glanced up at the elevator’s floor display. “It’s fine. Lucas needs to understand your relationship sooner or later. Meeting now makes sense.”

May and Gordon were both taken aback. Easton actually said sorry. They wondered when he learnt how to show respect to anyone.

But May just shook her head. If he really respected Sophia, he’d at least give her a heads-up before showing up.

Then she remembered what Ryan had mentioned: Sophia had already sent Easton’s number and WhatsApp straight to the digital doghouse.
