370.Chapter 370
Patience was her game. She’d waited this long. A little more was no big deal. As long as she got what she wanted in the end, that was all that mattered to her.
Most importantly, she had a major backer in her corner. Easton would have to take that person’s wishes seriously.
Allison played with her hair, then, suddenly remembering something, headed back to her office and texted May. [May, if you’re free the day after tomorrow, let’s grab dinner. Since it’s my first time in Jenston, I’m counting on you to be my guide.]
May replied almost instantly: [Sure! I was just about to reach out. The co-parenting agreement between Sophia and Easton is ready. I’ll send it over later.
[Show it to Mr. Foster tomorrow when you get a chance. If he’s okay with it, just have him sign it, then we’ll lock in a time and place to meet up the day after tomorrow.]
Allison replied: [Sounds good. It’s a plan.]
When Sophia brought Lucas back to the Roth residence, Edward sat in his wheelchair, hugging Lucas tightly, his heart breaking for the boy.
“Catherine is such a crazy woman! If Lucas hadn’t survived, I’d put my life on the line. She wouldn’t get away with it,” Edward said, his voice shaking with rage.
Everyone kept it from him when Lucas got hurt. He only found out by chance when he saw it on TV a few days later.
He was scared out of his wits. Good thing Julian and Annie were there to help him through it. Otherwise, he might’ve passed out again.
Sophia sat beside him, gently reassuring him. “Uncle Edward, Lucas is fine now. Catherine’s been officially charged, and the Weston family finally got what was coming to them. Lucas and I will be just fine from now on.” Edward held Lucas’s little hand and nodded.
Then he asked if Easton and Lucas acknowledged each other as father and son. Sophia just told him that she and Easton would be co-parenting Lucas.
Edward didn’t say much. They were both adults, and whatever Sophia decided, he’d respect her choice.
Ever since Lucas moved back into the Roth residence, Sophia felt much more at ease. With more people at home to help care for Lucas, she could finally relax.
In the days that followed, she threw herself into work. Virginia’s Hotel chain project in Haverton was one of Rothea Designs’ most important projects this year, and Sophia intended to personally oversee every detail. Jason was hopping on video calls with Sophia almost every day. Thanks to the time difference between Japoria and Cambul, Sophia was often burning the midnight oil.
Easton had somehow gotten Derrick on his side. Now, the two were getting along better than Easton ever did with Julian.
Every time Sophia worked overtime, Easton would wait in his car near Crestview. He’d trail her all the way home, only driving off after making sure she got inside safely.
Derrick kept teasing him on WhatsApp, saying his way of chasing after Sophia was nothing compared to Frank’s.
Frank was calling Sophia every single day and texting her all the time, too.
Easton’s face would turn stormy every time he heard that. Even his own son kept bringing up Frank’s name. Those two, Derrick and Lucas, were going to be the death of Easton

Sophia showed up at the Southern Development Zone with her design plans in hand. Easton already knew she’ d be there, so he’d gotten there early just to wait for her.
Sophia and Emily walked onto the construction site, both suited up in safety vests and hard hats. When they spotted Easton, Sophia just gave him a quick nod, but didn’t go over or say a word to him.
Easton knew this was exactly how Sophia would act. Since this was his rare chance to see her in person, he didn’t wait for her to approach, but went right over and struck up a conversation.
But aside from work matters, he didn’t dare to bring up anything personal.
Gordon watched Easton chasing after Sophia from the sidelines, and honestly, the whole thing looked kind of pathetic.
