373 Chapter
373.Chapter 373
Sophia thought, ‘Seriously, what’s with him saying ‘come back together’? That just sounds wrong!’ She was not an idiot and totally got what Easton was hinting at, realizing he hadn’t given up yet.
“No, I won’t. Lucas needs to get used to spending time with you alone. If I’m there, he’ll just stick to me,” Sophia
said.
Easton was quiet for a moment. “But Grandma…”
Sophia sighed. “I’ll explain it to Irene and make sure Lucas doesn’t say anything he shouldn’t.”
Before Easton could say anything else, Sophia had already ended the call.
Easton sat in his car, putting his phone away. He looked up as the lights in the top-floor office of Crestview Group went out, a look of utter helplessness in his eyes.
Just then, Derrick walked up to Easton’s car and tapped on the window, smirking as he watched Easton step
out.
“Mr. Foster, it’s pretty late. Don’t tell me you’re just here by coincidence,” Derrick teased.
Easton lit a cigarette, took a slow drag, and exhaled a lazy puff of smoke. “Why do you care?”
Derrick grinned, glancing down. “So, Sophia’s dropping Lucas off at Windmere Estate tomorrow?”
Easton nodded. “Yeah, I just talked to her about it.”
Derrick raised an eyebrow. “Well, look at you, making progress. At least your number’s finally unblocked.”
Easton just shot Derrick a silent look, not bothering to reply.
Every time Derrick ran into Easton, he just couldn’t resist poking fun at him.
Derrick said, “Mr. Foster, you know Sophia’s always been stubborn. Once she sets her mind on something, she won’t change it easily.
“Instead of coming here every day and wasting your time, why not try something different? Let her slowly see the changes in you.
“Show her you respect her now, and that you’re actually taking the time to get to know her.”
Easton cast him a glance. “Mr. Grant, you make it sound like you’re some kind of expert. Sounds like you’ve chased after quite a few women yourself.”
Derrick shook his head, looking smug. “Wrong. I’ve never chased after any girls. They’ve always chased after
me.”
Easton let out a dry laugh, his eyes full of sarcasm. “Derrick, I heard Eleanore’s mom just arrived in Jenston. So, what’s your plan with Dr. Keats?
“If I remember right, it was her mom who drove you two apart back then.”
He was pretty much telling Derrick to worry about his own mess instead of poking his nose into his life.
With that, Easton yanked open the car door, slid inside, and floored the gas, speeding off without another word. Derrick clamped the cigarette between his lips, eyes half-closed. “Sophia wasn’t wrong. This guy’s a real scheming dog.”
He couldn’t believe Easton knew all the details about him and Eleanore.
Just thinking about Eleanore gave Derrick a migraine. That little woman was as stubborn as Sophia, even though she knew there was no chance for the two of them.
By the next morning, Sophia was staring down a backlog of nearly a month’s work.
Even though he was only going to stay there for a couple of days, since this was going to be a regular thing every weekend, Sophia packed up a small suitcase with his clothes and some daily necessities.
Lucas stood off to the side, looking all sulky and unwilling, which made Sophia couldn’t help but laugh and

“Lucas, don’t be upset. You’re just going to stay at your dad’s place for two days every weekend, and he’ll bring you back on Sunday night,” Sophia said, messing up his hair affectionately.
She added, “You’ll have to get used to this new routine, okay?”
Lucas lowered his head and nodded in response.
Sophia scooped Lucas up and sat him on her lap, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of his head. “Your dad and I both love you so much, and Irene loves you, too.
“You’re a big boy now, so how about you go keep Irene company for me every weekend, okay?”
Lucas looked up and gave her a small smile. “Okay, Mom.”
Noticing Lucas was still feeling down, Sophia figured a little shopping might cheer him up.
