It wasn’t until Allison greeted Irene that Easton realized Sophia had actually arrived in Allison’s car.

Easton thought to himself, ‘When did those two get acquainted? And why did Sophia and Lucas come over in her car today?’

He instinctively furrowed his brows.

Irene looked at the young woman in front of her and thought Allison looked familiar, but couldn’t quite place

her.

Allison stepped forward and added, “Mrs. Foster, I’m Allison Steele, Rowen Steele’s daughter. Don’t you remember me?”

As soon as Irene heard the name, it all clicked. She smiled, “Oh, it’s Allison. It’s been so long. You’ve grown up

so much.

“Ten years ago, I went to Menolia to visit your father, and you were just 17 or 18 back then. Time really flies. You’ve become so graceful and poised. I almost didn’t recognize you.”

Allison slightly lowered her eyes with a soft smile. “You’re too kind, Mrs. Foster. How have you been doing?” Irene held Sophia’s hand and chatted with Allison kindly. “I’m doing well, of course. So, how did you end up coming over today with Easton’s wife?”

Sophia stood nearby and quietly told Irene about what had happened earlier that morning, especially how their car got rear-ended on the overpass.

Easton’s face went pale in nervousness as he hurried over to Sophia. “Are you okay?”

Sophia paused for a moment, then nodded and replied calmly, “I’m fine. Lucas just got a little shaken up. Fortunately, Allison was there and gave us a lift.”

Allison chimed in, “Mr. Foster, please don’t worry. I’ve already had my assistant take care of Mrs. Foster’s car. Once the insurance company finishes up, they’ll bring it back in a few days.”

Easton nodded quietly. “Just make sure someone follows up on it.”

Irene patted Sophia’s hand. “As long as you and Lucas are alright, that’s all that matters. Let the others handle the rest.

“Allison, since you’re already here, why don’t you stay and have a meal with us?”

Allison shot Easton a quick look instinctively. When she saw he didn’t object, she nodded her agreement. Alright, thank you, Mrs. Foster.”

Sophia helped Irene into the house, and as she turned away, she cast a deep, subtle glance at Allison, her expression giving nothing away.

Allison was quick-witted and perceptive. She’d just returned from abroad, but had already learned about Irene’s situation.

Without any hints from Sophia, Allison instinctively knew not to address her “Ms. Roth” in front of Irene.

When Allison called her “Mrs. Foster”, Sophia actually felt a bit strange.

But she couldn’t quite put her finger on what exactly made her feel that way.

All Sophia knew was that Allison was meticulous and definitely not someone to be taken lightly.

After stepping into the dining room of the mansion, Lucas obediently followed Grace to the bathroom to wash his hands, while Sophia and Irene sat down at the dining table.

“Sophia, I haven’t seen you in so long. Come here. Let me take a good look at you,” Irene said warmly. Sophia took a warm towel and gently wiped Irene’s hands. “I’m sorry, Irene. Work’s been pretty hectic lately, and I had to go on a business trip, so I haven’t had much time to visit you.”

Irene shot Easton a glance, thinking, ‘That kid. I told him to remind Sophia not to overwork herself, but even

“It’s alright. Just come see me more when you have time,” Irene said with a gentle smile.

When Lucas came out after washing his hands and was about to sit down, he walked over to Irene and said politely, “Great-grandma, time to eat.”

Irene couldn’t help but smile at how sweetly Lucas called her. She had Grace move his chair closer.

Irene chuckled, “Lucas, you are growing up so fast. You are looking more and more like your mother, so handsome. Good thing you don’t look like your father.”

Easton was speechless. ‘Wait a moment, Grandma. What’s wrong with looking like me? I’m not that bad, am I?’
