376.Chapter 376
Sophia just smiled and didn’t say anything.
The meal tasted like nothing to Allison. Watching the four of them laughing and chatting together, she felt awkward. It was as if she didn’t even exist.
What really got to her was that Easton’s eyes never left Sophia, and he kept serving her food.
Allison had never seen Easton so gentle before. In her mind, he was always cold and distant, never giving a damn about anyone or anything.
Even back when she saw him sitting with Stella, he was still just as indifferent.
But today was different. Easton, who was always so aloof and untouchable, was actually the one trying to please someone else for once.
He was always the one people tried to please, never the other way around.
‘Why is it like this?’ Allison thought, a mix of confusion and frustration swirling inside her.
‘Didn’t Easton already give up on fighting for custody? If he doesn’t want the kid anymore, doesn’t that mean he’ s supposed to let go of the past?’ she wondered.
No matter how Allison looked at it, Easton seemed to be just finding another way to win Sophia back.
She slowly lowered her hands beneath the table, clenching her fists tight.
‘No matter what, there’s a kid between them. That blood bond isn’t something I can ever change, Allison realized.
However, she believed things wouldn’t have to stay that way if she could somehow take Sophia’s place. Allison suddenly remarked, “Lucas really is such a good kid. Mrs. Foster’s done a great job raising him.”
She had stayed silent, and honestly, Easton barely even remembered she was sitting right there across from him.
Irene’s face lit up with pride when she heard Alisson praise Lucas. “Yes, Sophia really is such a kind and capable mother.
“All those years she spent in Japoria raising Lucas, she took care of everything herself, no matter how big or small. Lucas is such a wonderful kid, and it’s all thanks to her.
“Having a granddaughter-in-law like her is a real blessing for our Foster family. Not like Easton’s mother…” Suddenly, Irene brought up Easton’s mother out of nowhere.
Allison shot a look at Easton across the table, noticing how his expression instantly soured when Irene ,brought up his mother.
Sophia had heard Grace mention before that Easton and his mom had a strained relationship, and it seemed like the whole Foster family was hiding a lot of secrets.
Since no one ever wanted to talk about it, Sophia just kept her questions to herself.
Allison continued with the topic, “My dad’s actually kept in touch with Ms. Scott all these years. Whenever she was abroad and asked about Easton, she really regretted what happened back then…”
“Enough. Let’s drop it,” Irene said, her eyes clouding over as she held Lucas’s hand. “Easton’s doing just fine now. He’s got a wife, a kid, and he’s happier than anyone.
“Her regrets don’t mean anything to us anymore.”
Sophia was genuinely surprised. Irene had never liked Vivian. In fact, she pretty much couldn’t stand Vivian. Sophia had never seen Irene so angry before.
But what really threw Sophia was how Allison seemed to know all the details about what went down between Easton and his mom.

376.Chapter 376
And it was clear Allison’s family was really close to Maria, even though Sophia herself had never even met her
in person.
Easton shook off his dark mood, kept putting food on Sophia’s plate, and gently passed her a bowl of soup. ” Hold on a sec before you drink. It’s still pretty hot,” he said softly.
Sophia gave Easton a quick look before dropping her gaze, replying quietly, “Thanks.”
After lunch, Sophia stayed and chatted with Irene for a while. Then she asked Grace to help Irene go to rest.
Before Sophia left, Irene turned to her and said, “Sophia, why don’t you and Lucas stay at Windmere Estate tonight? Don’t go back to Silvermoon Bay.
“Easton has finished work for the day, and he said he’ll stay home tonight to spend time with you and Lucas.”
