384 Chapter 384
384.Chapter 384
He said, “Tomorrow night is the Jenston Chamber of Commerce’s 50th anniversary dinner. Crestview Group should’ve gotten an invitation, right?”
Sophia nodded, still replying to her messages. “Yeah, we got it. They sent us the invite ages ago.”
Easton glanced at the rearview mirror. “So, will you be going tomorrow night?”
“Yep, absolutely,” Sophia replied.
Sophia looked up and noticed they were almost arriving at kindergarten.
“Lucas, hurry and finish your milk. We’re getting out soon,” she said.
When Easton heard Sophia say she’d be attending the party tomorrow night, his mood changed entirely.
‘So that was what she meant about seeing Frank tomorrow night. They’d just be running into each other at the event; he thought.
The car pulled up to the kindergarten entrance, and with Easton’s limited-edition Rolls-Royce, they instantly became the center of attention the moment they stepped out.
Easton held Lucas’s hand and walked up to the gate, just as the kindergarten board chair and the principal came out to meet them in person.
“Mr. Foster, what brings you here today? Inspecting the kindergarten?” the board chair asked.
Easton shot Lucas a gentle look, passed him off to his homeroom teacher, then turned back to them with a calm expression. “Just dropping my son off at school today.”
As soon as he replied, the board chair, the principal, and even the homeroom teacher who’d just taken Lucas all froze in shock.
‘Since when did Mr. Foster have a kid?’ they all wondered.
There had been gossip and speculation for years, but he’d never confirmed anything online.
They wondered why he suddenly admitted it.
Then they glanced over at Sophia from Crestview Group, who was standing right next to Easton.
They had new guesses.
The kindergarten principal and the homeroom teacher exchanged glances, then looked at Lucas. ‘Isn’t his last name Roth?’ they wondered.
Suddenly, it clicked for all of them that Sophia must’ve already had a child with Easton back when they got divorced.
All those rumors online were just made up. The boy standing right in front of them was Easton’s real heir.
Lucas’s homeroom teacher’s hands broke out in a cold sweat. She was holding the hand of the future heir of Foster Group.
The news hit her like a ton of bricks, and she just couldn’t process it right away.
The board chair gave an awkward smile. “Of course, Mr. Foster. Rest assured. We’ll make sure the teachers take good care of Lucas.”
Easton just nodded in response.
Only then did Sophia realize the kindergarten she and Annie had spent so long searching for and finally settled on was actually owned by Foster Group.
‘What a coincidence!’ Sophia thought, a little amused.
Now that Easton knew about Lucas, people could speculate all they wanted, so Sophia decided to just ignore them.
As long as Lucas was safe and getting a good education at school, that was all that mattered.
After dropping Lucas off, Easton and Sophia got back in the car and headed to Crestview Group.
Sophia was busy with work the whole way. When they arrived, she thanked Easton, grabbed her files and tablet, and got out of the car.
Easton was about to ask if he could pick her up at Windmere Estate tomorrow night and go to the party together, but couldn’t bring himself to say it.
Successfully unlocked!
And Sophia barely spared him a glance. She didn’t seem to have a moment to spare for him.
When Sophia entered her office, May followed right in behind her.

“Ms. Roth, I saw it,” May said.
Sophia sat down at her desk, turned on her computer, and looked up at May, puzzled. “What did you see?”
“Was that Mr. Foster’s ride I saw dropping you off this morning? Wait. Were you two together last night?” May asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Sophia nodded without thinking.
May had just taken a sip of water and nearly spat it out. She was just teasing Sophia, but she didn’t expect her to answer so straightforwardly.
