386 Chapter 386
386.Chapter 386
Allison had assumed she’d be Easton’s date and be alone with him tonight, but when she got down to the garage, she found Gordon and Katherine already waiting in the car.
She made sure not to let any hint of disappointment slip.
Following Easton into the party, she put on her best professional face, mingling gracefully with the city’s business elite.
As soon as Sophia and Derrick walked in, the reporters swarmed them, all trying to get an interview.
Easton had been keeping an eye on Sophia ever since she arrived. Once she finished with the reporters, she started mingling with the other business big shots in the room.
Easton was surrounded by a bunch of CEOS and couldn’t get away for a moment. When he finally looked up to find Sophia, he saw her standing with Frank.
They were deep in conversation, barely paying attention to the people coming over to toast them. They were just tossing out a few polite replies before diving right back into their chat.
Before long, they were chatting as they strolled off toward the hotel’s garden in the backyard.
Easton’s expression darkened. Gordon and Katherine, who’d been with him for years, could tell right away he was distracted, maybe even a bit irritated.
Katherine fielded a few of the CEOs’ toasts for Easton, giving him a chance to make his escape.
It was Allison’s first time at a big Jenston event like this, and she was surrounded by other professionals, caught up in small talk.
She had no idea when Easton slipped out of the hall.
When Easton got to the garden, sure enough, he spotted Frank and Sophia chatting by the fountain.
There were a few medical professionals standing with them, and then he saw Ryan heading their way.
Easton pulled out his phone and called Ryan. “Find out what Sophia and Frank are talking about.”
Ryan had just walked up to Sophia and the others when his phone rang. He glanced around and, to his surprise, saw Easton standing by the side door of the party hall, watching them.
Ryan smiled, didn’t say a word in front of Sophia and the others, and just sent his reply, “Got it.”
“Frank, that’s the gist of our fundraising plan,” Sophia said.
Frank nodded. “I get it. Hayes Group makes donations to mai

Not long after they wrapped up, Frank got a call from his dad and had to head out.
Ryan stuck around, going over how to actually pull off the fundraiser with them. As the one running the show, Sophia was all ears, taking in everyone’s ideas.
Easton stood by the side door, with business folks constantly coming up to make small talk and talk shop.
Before he knew it, he’d had quite a few drinks.
Noticing Easton had been missing from the hall for a while, Gordon quickly went out to look for him.
“Mr. Foster, are you alright?” Gordon asked.
When Gordon finally found Easton, he was sitting alone on a sofa in the side hall.
Easton was clutching his stomach. “Go find Ryan and let him know I’m not feeling well. See if he can get me something for
it.”
Gordon nodded in response.
Easton gestured with his hand. “Ryan’s over there with Ms. Roth.”
Gordon caught on instantly. Without wasting a moment he made his way over to Ryan, speaking quietly but clearly so only Ryan could hear.
