Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 387

387.Chapter 387

387.Chapter 387

Sophia was close to Ryan, so she overheard everything Gordon said.

‘Didn’t Easton already have his surgery?’ Sophia thought.

Ryan had told her before that the surgery went well, and Easton had seemed perfectly fine these past few days. So why was he suddenly feeling sick tonight?

Ryan’s heart skipped a beat when he heard Easton wasn’t feeling well.

He planned to quickly greet them and then go with Gordon to escort Easton upstairs to their private lounge, where he had kept the medicine.

But before he could even turn around, Gordon gave him a meaningful look, and Ryan instantly got the message.

“The medicine’s in the lounge on the second floor, but I have to go on stage and give my speech now. Gordon, you take Easton up first,” Ryan said.

Gordon pretended his phone was ringing. “Hello, Ms. Chandler? Mr. Foster is not feeling well at the moment, so he probably can’t come over right now.

“Oh, really? Okay, I’ve got the files here. I’ll bring them over to you right away.”

As soon as Ryan had finished speaking earlier, he hurried off.

Ending the call, Gordon looked torn, not sure what to do. Sophia was standing nearby, and after a moment’s thought, she walked over.

“Gordon, what’s wrong with Easton?” Sophia asked.

Gordon’s eyes lit up when he saw Sophia. He asked, “Ms. Roth, you’re here. That’s a relief.

“Mr. Foster drank a lot tonight, and now he’s really not feeling well. His medicine’s up in the lounge on the second floor.

“Mr. Howard’s about to go on stage, and I’ve got to deliver a contract to Ms. Chandler. The client is waiting… Could you help me take Mr. Foster upstairs to the lounge?”

Gordon sounded a bit unsure.

Sophia hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement. “Alright. Where is he now?”

Gordon gestured toward the side lounge. “Mr. Foster’s sitting over there. Sorry to trouble you, Ms. Roth.”

Sophia followed his gesture and glanced at the lounge, then turned to see Gordon rushing off with the files.

‘Is it really that hectic?’ Sophia wondered to herself.

She guessed that might be how it went with big companies.

Sophia quickened her pace and headed toward the lounge. As expected, she spotted Easton leaning back on the couch, his face a little off and looking pretty bothered.

She came up beside him. “Easton, are you not feeling well?”

Easton looked up at her and nodded. “Yeah, a little. I drank a lot earlier.”

Sophia looked around, hoping to find someone else to help, but the lounge was totally deserted.

She sighed. “Do you think you can make it upstairs?”

Easton mumbled a noncommittal response.

Sophia reached out to steady him. “Ryan said your medicine’s in the lounge on the second floor. Let me help you get up there.”

Easton nodded weakly in agreement and pushed himself up from the couch.

The two walked slowly into the elevator.

Sophia saw the sweat beading on Easton’s forehead and felt a stab of concern. “Easton, we are almost there. Hang in there,” she said, her voice gentle.

When the elevator doors opened, Sophia helped him to the directors’ exclusive, private lounge.

Just then, a server happened to walk by. Sophia called out, “Excuse me. Could you get us a glass of water? Thanks.”

After that, Sophia helped Easton into the lounge and eased bin onto the couch so he could rest.

Successfully unlocked!

Sophia saw a few bottles of medicine on the coffee table so she picked them up and checked the labels.

“Easton, your stomach hurts, but there’s nothing here for it. Want me to go ask someone to buy some for you?” she said,

concern in her voice.

Just as Sophia started to get up, Easton grabbed her wrist. She stumbled and landed right in his arms on the couch.

Easton kept a tight grip on her wrist with one hand, while the other slid around her waist.

“Don’t go,” Easton murmured, his voice low and rough in her ear as he pulled her closer into his arms.

Sophia blushed as she tried to push him away. “Easton, you’re drunk,” she protested.
