Sophia nodded. “Alright. I’ll head out first. Take your time.”

She had to admit Sophia was just so beautiful. The first couple of times Allison saw her, Sophia didn’t even have any makeup on, but still looked amazing.

Now, seeing Sophia at the party with her makeup done to perfection, Allison realized she was honestly drop-dead gorgeous.

‘If I were a guy, I’d totally fall for her, Allison thought, ‘no wonder Stella stood no chance against her. They’re not even in the same league.’

Suddenly, she was hit with a sense of crisis.

She used to think Easton only had feelings for Stella because they’d met back when they were nobody, and everyone gossiped that he was the father of Stella’s son.

But one time, Allison bumped into Easton and Stella at the cemetery, where they were honoring Murray, and that was when she realized David was actually Murray’s son.

Even though the rumors in Jenston were flying for years, Allison never believed any of it. She was the only one who knew the real story.

To her, whatever was going on between Easton and Stella was just adult games, nothing more.

Allison was really worried, so when Easton asked her to come back to Jenston to take up the vacancy, she agreed without a second thought.

But when Allison finally saw Sophia in person, especially tonight, the pressure was on.

She pondered, ‘Easton’s got eyes, after all. If he had to pick, he’d go for someone absolutely breathtaking.

‘Men are all the same, always led by their eyes. And for a guy sitting at the top like him, the women around him are all knockout beauties.’

Allison felt a wave of bitterness in her heart. She pondered, ‘If only Sophia already had a boyfriend, everything would be so much simpler.

‘She wouldn’t even give Easton a second thought, and she definitely wouldn’t get tangled up with him the way Stella did.’

After fixing her makeup, Allison made her way back into the party hall.

Gordon was searching all over for her. “Allison, Mr. Chapman from the Chamber of Commerce has some legal issues he wants to discuss with you. Could you head over and talk to him?”

Allison nodded. “Alright. I’m on my way.”

As Allison stepped into the main hall, she immediately spotted Sophia chatting and laughing with Frank, the VP of Hayes Group.

The two looked like they were having a great time together, and Allison couldn’t help but notice the way Frank gazed at Sophia, his eyes practically overflowing with affection.

It wasn’t long before Katherine walked over and joined their little group.

Allison found herself puzzled. Katherine seemed to be pretty close with them, almost like they were old friends.

She discreetly snapped a photo on her phone and sent it off to someone.

Her contact called her back almost instantly. “Frank, the VP of Hayes Group, is actually college buddies with Sophia and Katherine. They all went to college together.

“Word is, Frank broke off his marriage with the Holland family because of Sophia. After Sophia got divorced, he left Jenston for years.

Ryan said, “I checked what you asked me about, and here’s the deal. Turns out Sophia started the Angel Fund, and now they’re planning a charity event to raise money for kids in poor areas.
