Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 399

399.Chapter 399

399.Chapter 399

A flash of surprise crossed Sophia’s eyes. The house staff member was standing right behind them, but still didn’t have time to stop Lucas from blurting it out.

“Is your dad feeling sick?” Sophia asked.

Lucas nodded in response.

“Alright. Wait here, Lucas. I’ll go upstairs to check in on your dad, and then I’ll take you home afterwards,” Sophia said.

She put Lucas down, but he immediately grabbed her hand.

“Mommy, Dad’s only sick because he’s been looking after me lately. Can we stay? Leaving him all by himself would be so pitiful,” Lucas said.

Sophia hadn’t expected Lucas to say that. She could tell he genuinely cared about Easton.

Over the past month, it seemed the two of them had gotten along pretty well, and Lucas was even calling him “Dad” all by himself now.

Sophia got down to Lucas’s level and looked him in the eye. “Do you want to stay here and help look after your dad?”

Lucas nodded firmly. “Can we stay until Dad’s feeling better? Please?”

Sophia felt a bit conflicted. Lucas could stay here, but as for her… It just didn’t feel right for her to stay.

The house staff member stepped forward. “Mrs. Foster, Mr. Foster makes sure we disinfect and clean every corner of Windmere Estate every day.

“You can feel completely safe staying here. The doctor comes by every morning and afternoon, and Mr. Foster’s always been strong. He’ll recover in just a few days.

“Why not stay until he’s better, and then take Lucas home?”

Sophia understood what the maid was getting at. She also realized that Easton had been personally looking after Lucas’s meals and daily routine all this time.

If Lucas suddenly left Windmere Estate, he’d definitely be heartbroken.

Besides, Easton was still sick. Leaving now just felt wrong.

Sophia hugged Lucas and answered, “Then Mommy will share a room with you for the next few days.”

Lucas’s face lit up with happiness.

Standing aside, the maid could barely contain her excitement. She was already, planning to call back to Windmere Estate later and share the news.

After giving Paolo a few instructions, Sophia let the maid, Myra, help carry her luggage to Lucas’s room.

“Mrs. Foster, if you need anything, just let me know,” Myra said.

Sophia smiled. “Myra, no need to be so formal with me. I can take care of myself. Also, just call me Ms. Roth.”

Myra just smiled and said, “Alright. Have a good night, Myra.”

That night, Sophia gave Lucas a warm bath, checked his temperature before bed, and made sure he took his medicine, following the doctor’s instructions.

Once everything was done, she tucked him in and watched him drift off to sleep.

It was almost midnight when Sophia turned off her laptop and went downstairs to grab a glass of water. As she walked past the study, she happened to hear Easton coughing.

In Sophia’s memory, whether in college or since she returned home last year, Easton rarely got sick, except for a few times when his headaches acted up.

When Sophia got downstairs, she saw Myra also in the kitchen.

“Myra, why are you still up so late?” Sophia asked.

Myra was pouring water and turned around politely. “Mrs… Ms. Roth, you’re still up, too.”

Sophia nodded in response.

Myra smiled and said, “Mr. Foster’s been coughing a lot tonlit soil was doing to bring him a glass of water.”

Successfully unlocked!

Sophia glanced at the glass of water in Myra’s manda

“You should get some rest. I was about to get some water anyway, so I’ll just bring it to him when I head upstairs,” Sophia

said.

Myra was clearly pleased.

But then she remembered that Easton was still sick, and he’d made it clear earlier that Sophia and Lucas weren’t supposed to go into the study while he was ill.

Sophia caught her hesitation. “It’s fine. I get my flu shots regularly, so it’s pretty unlikely I’ll catch anything.”

“Alright. I’ll leave it to you then, Ms. Roth,” Myra said as she set down the glass and headed out of the kitchen.
