Easton spent the whole afternoon in his study at Silvermoon Bay, buried in work for Foster Group.

Gordon had been in and out of the room several times, but since Easton refused to go back to the office, there was nothing he could do.

Sure, Easton was still under the weather, but Gordon thought, ‘He doesn’t really need to stay home for days, does he?’

Gordon was so busy that he didn’t even have time to use the restroom.

‘Is there anyone who can save me?’ he thought.

Easton looked up and saw Gordon standing in front of his desk, looking all gloomy and spaced out. He set his pen down and gave Gordon a teasing half-smile.

“Gordon, what’s wrong? Just a few extra errands and you’re already pulling that face?” he asked.

Gordon perked up instantly at Easton’s voice. “No, Mr. Foster. You misunderstood.”

“Alright, spill it. What’s really going on?” Easton pressed.

Gordon started updating Easton on the progress of several key projects.

With Easton out of the office, the directors and managers didn’t know what to do. They were all just waiting for him to come back and give the final approval.

Sure, the directors and execs could make some big decisions themselves, but they never seemed to agree, so most of the time, they just deferred to Easton’s judgment.

When they learned Gordon was heading to Silvermoon Bay, they all urged him to report to Easton right away.

Easton knew stuff like this was just part of running Foster Group. “Not right now. I’ll jump on a video call with them later, and I’ll go through the documents as soon as I can.

“Everything will be settled by tonight at the latest.”

Then Gordon brought up an email he’d gotten that morning. “There’s a data glitch at the research center in Menolia.

“It’s not a huge deal, but the product quality isn’t up to standard, so we’ll need to spend some time sorting it out.

“Mr. Steele was the one overseeing this batch before he retired, and Allison suggested we bring him back to keep an eye on it again.”

Easton thought Allison’s idea was pretty good.

When Rowen had asked to retire early, Easton had hesitated about approving it,

But then he remembered Rowen had spent most of his life working for Foster Group, so he couldn’t really force someone his age to stay.

Easton thought for a moment before replying, “Alright. I got it. I’ll give Allison a call later and have her ask Mr. Steele if he’s up for coming back.

“If he agrees, that’ll sort things out. If not, I’ll just send Evan over to handle it.”

“Alright, Easton. If that’s all for now, I’ll grab these files and head back to my desk,” Gordon said.

“Sure,” Easton replied.

After Gordon left, Easton called Allison. Once they’d worked out the plan, he asked her to go talk to Rowen.

Before hanging up, Allison asked with concern, “Mr. Foster, are you feeling any better?”

“Yeah,” Easton replied.

“And how’s Lucas?” Allison pressed.

Just thinking about Sophia and Lucas downstairs made Easton’s face soften with affection. “He’s doing better, too. He’s with his mom.”

Allison was a little taken aback to hear Sophia was at Easton’s place. “Ms. Roth has come back from overseas?”

“Mm,” Easton replied, his tone cool.

“Is she planning to take Lucas back to the Roth residence?” Allison asked tentatively.

“No,” Easton replied.

‘So, does that mean Sophia and Easton are actually staying under the same roof now?’ Allison wondered to herself.
