412.Chapter 412
“The contract looks good. I’ll sign it in a bit, and tomorrow I’ll have my assistant reach out to HopeṬrust. After that, the rest is in your hands, Ryan,” Sophia said.
Ryan smiled. “No trouble at all. It’s our pleasure to team up with Crestview again.”
Honestly, no one is happier about this than Easton.
After signing her name, Sophia handed the document to Ryan.
After Ryan left, Derrick strolled into Sophia’s office. “Babe, how about dinner tonight?”
Sophia glanced at her schedule, and there was no meeting with Rothea Designs tonight. She said, “Sure, let’s bring May along. She has been feeling a bit down lately, and I want to be there for her.”
Derrick grinned. “Two beautiful ladies at dinner with me tonight? Man, I’m on cloud nine already.”
Sophia snorted, gave him a serious look, and crooked her finger at him. “Derrick, get over here.”
Derrick strolled over with his hands in his pockets, totally chill. “Just say it.”
Sophia slipped her arm through his and grinned playfully. “So, what’s the deal with you and Dr. Keats?”
Derrick knocked lightly on her head. “When did you get so nosy? Quit snooping around about me.”
Sophia grumbled as she rubbed her head. “Seriously, I can’t even ask? You’re so petty.”
But Sophia wasn’t about to give up. She was way too curious. She had never seen Derrick with a girl, not even once.
Seriously, there wasn’t even a single woman around him. He was always hanging out with Paolo and his gang of bros.
Sophia said, “Derrick, don’t tell me you ditched Dr. Keats? Listen, we don’t raise scumbags in this family. Just look at. Nicolas. He treats Annie like-royalty. Those two are crazy in love.
“The other day, when Dr. Keats asked me what was going on between us, her eyes were all red. She must’ve gotten the wrong idea about us. I didn’t dare say much, just explained that we aren’t what she thinks.”
Derrick’s eyes grew serious. “She cried?”
Sophia nodded.
Derrick kept his expression neutral, giving nothing away. “Sophia, things between Eleanore and me are way too complicated. I’m currently unable to access it. All I can say is, we’re not meant to be.
“I don’t want to drag her down with me. That’s all.”
Sophia knew Derrick inside out. He was no scumbag, not in a million years. Whatever was going on between him and Eleanore, there had to be some serious baggage they just couldn’t get past.
Sophia thought, ‘Wait a sec, Eleanore’s last name is Keats?
No way, is this one of those wild drama plots May’s always gossiping about?
‘Is this some modern-day Romeo and Juliet thing?’
Derrick knew Sophia was smart. She had put the pieces together sooner or later.
Still, he had to talk things over with Uncle Edward and the rest of the family eventually. The Keats family was still out there, and that mess hadn’t been cleaned up for good.
“I’ve got to get back to work. Wait for me downstairs when you’re off,” Derrick said, ruffling Sophia’s hair before heading out of the office.

At seven that evening, Derrick took Sophia and May out to this exclusive little restaurant that was totally off the radar. May glanced around, clearly impressed by the vibe. “Derrick, you just got back to Jenston. How would you even find a place this tucked away?”
Sophia looked around and had to admit, this place was actually pretty nice.
The only catch was, the signal here kind of sucked.
They had barely sat down when Sophia’s phone started ringing. She glanced at thè screen, and it was Easton calling.
The signal in this place was so bad, Easton couldn’t really catch much of what Sophia was saying.

All he caught was that Sophia was out for dinner with Derrick and May
“So, have you given any thought to that thing we talked about the other day?” Easton asked.

It hit Sophia that Easton had talked about her moving back to Silvermoon Bay.
“Yeah, I’ll start packing… Move…” Sophia replied, her voice breaking up.
The signal was so bad, her words kept cutting out.
