414.Chapter 414
Plus, Easton helped Crestview Group and even risked his life to save Julian and Lucas. The Foster family and the Roth family have buried the hatchet, so it makes sense that Uncle Edward could finally let go of the past.
Once Sophia finished packing, she drove back to Silvermoon Bay.
“Ms. Roth, you’re back?” Myra greeted her with a warm smile.
Sophia nodded. “Myra, is Lucas already asleep?”
Myra’s face lit up when she saw Sophia wheeling in two big suitcases. She could tell right away that Sophia had decided to move back in and rushed over to help with the luggage, clearly thrilled.
“He’s already asleep. Mia gave him a bath, read him a story, and he went to bed without any fuss,” Myra replied.
Sophia smiled, feeling a wave of relief. Lucas had always been so independent and well-behaved, never giving her any real reason to worry.
“Myra, could you help me get the guest room on the second floor ready? That’s where I’ll be staying from now on,” Sophia
said.
Myra looked a bit puzzled, hesitating for a moment. “Mrs… Ms. Roth, you’re not staying in the master bedroom?”
Sophia gave a gentle smile and shook her head. “No, I won’t be staying in the master bedroom.”
‘Moving back to Silvermoon Bay was all about giving Lucas the best, just like Easton wanted. But taking the master bedroom? That was never part of my plan, Sophia thought.
Seeing how determined Sophia was, Myra didn’t press the issue and hustled to get the guest room set up for her.
By the time Sophia finished packing and stepped out of the shower, it was almost one in the morning.
The food Derrick had taken her out for tonight was delicious and totally authentic, but the flavors were so strong that she had ended up drinking water all evening.
Her throat was still parched, so she opened her door and headed downstairs to the kitchen for a glass of water.
As soon as she reached the first floor, she spotted someone slumped on the living room sofa, fast asleep.
From the silhouette, it looked like Easton, and the whole place reeked of booze.
Sophia figured he must have just gotten back from some work event or had been out entertaining clients.
Sophia grabbed an extra glass of warm water for him and saw he was holding his stomach, looking uncomfortable, his brows tightly knit.
Sophia wondered, ‘Is his old stomach problem acting up again?
‘Sometimes I really felt for him. Managing a huge international company like Foster Group alone is a heavy load to carry.
Easton does not have any siblings to help share the pressure, unlike Crestview Group, where we always had each other’s
support.’
Sophia fished out Easton’s usual antacids from the medicine cabinet. “Easton, wake up. Drink some warm water and take your medicine, okay? Try to get some rest upstairs soon.”
Easton was in a foul mood tonight. He had downed way too much at the Oceanview Club. His driver tried to help him inside, but Easton waved him off, staggering through the door and crashing onto the sofa, completely out of it.
His mind was filled with thoughts of Sophia. He thought, ‘How had she spent all that time alone at Silvermoon Bay? How had she gotten through those ten months after their wedding, dealing with nothing but loneliness and hurt?
‘When I finally came back, I did not care about her feelings at all. I forced myself on her and even said things that cut her to the bone.
‘That was the first time we had been together after getting married…
‘Back then, Sophia must have felt completely shattered inside.
‘Serves me right.
‘No matter how hard I tried, Sophia still wouldn’t come back to me.’
Seeing Easton didn’t respond, Sophia gave him a gentle chake Easton are you listening to me?”
Successfully unlocked!
Easton’s eyes fluttered open, and the first thing he saw was Sophia’s gorgeous face filling his vision.
Seeing him wake up, Sophia guessed he’d heard her and was about to turn and head upstairs.

But before she could react, Easton caught her wrist, and she stumbled right into his embrace.
Easton’s arms wrapped tightly around her. Sophia looked up. Easton’s face was inches from hers, his breath hot and heavy, growing stronger with every second.
“Sophia, is that you? Please, don’t leave me, okay?” Easton murmured.
Sophia knew Easton was drunk, and her first instinct was to pull away. But before she could, his lips pressed against hers, soft, warm, and burning hot.
