“Easton, you’re drunk,” Sophia shoved him off and got to her feet.

Sophia was fuming inside, but she knew he was only acting this way because he was wasted.

She didn’t say another word. Seeing him pass out on the couch, she sighed, torn between ignoring him and taking care of

him.

She walked into the guest room on the first floor, pulled out a thin blanket, and covered him up.

‘If you weren’t Lucas’s dad, I wouldn’t even bother you, Sophia thought.

She kept trying to convince herself that it was the reason, not because she actually cared about him.

The next morning, Lucas woke up early, and Mia helped him get dressed before taking him downstairs for breakfast.

He spotted Easton sitting on the couch, rubbing his temples. “Dad, you came home really late last night.”

Easton scooped Lucas up and settled him on his lap. “Yeah, I had a work dinner last night, so I got home late.”

Lucas gazed up at him with big eyes. “Oh, okay. I’m gonna go eat breakfast now.”

Easton set Lucas down, took his hand, and led him to the dining room. “Did your mom say when she is taking you to Edward’s place today?”

Lucas shook his head. “No, she said she is really busy today and might not be home until late. She told me to listen to Mia.”

Easton looked puzzled, about to ask something, when Sophia came downstairs.

Sophia walked over to Lucas like nothing had happened, gave his head a gentle pat, and then glanced at Easton. “Sober now?”

Easton nodded.

Last night, even though he was pretty out of it, he could still vaguely remember Sophia talking to him, and he had even ended up kissing her.

“About last night…” Easton began.

“You were drunk last night. I brought you some medicine and a blanket,” Sophia said, totally straightforward. She wasn’t embarrassed at all.

She thought, ‘Besides, he was so out of it last night. It’s not like he remembered much anyway.

‘Not mentioning it actually made things less awkward.’

“Thanks,” Easton said. Seeing Sophia’s calm expression, he didn’t dare ask any more questions.

Sophia picked up her water glass, took a sip, and said coolly, “Aren’t you heading back to Grandview Estate tonight?”

Easton was still trying to process it. “So, you agreed to stay here at Silvermoon Bay with Lucas?”

Sophia nodded. “Didn’t you ask me that when you called last night? And I already answered you.”

Easton felt a surge of emotion. “I thought…”

“What did you think?” Sophia asked.

Easton’s mood instantly lifted after a whole night of heaviness. “Nothing, really. Guess my signal was bad last night. I thought you hadn’t said yes.”

Sophia set her glass down. “Maybe it was the place I was eating at The signal was bad, so I couldn’t really explain things clearly. So, are you moving out today?”

Easton just lost for words.

Easton thought, ‘Is she really in such a hurry to get rid of me?

‘Whatever, if it means she’ll come back to this house, I would move out in a heartbeat.’

After Sophia left for work, Easton told Myra to get the master bedroom ready for Sophia so Sophia could rest comfortably when she got home tonight.

“But Mrs. Sophia Foster said she doesn’t want to sleep in the master bedroom. She asked me to get the guest room on the second floor ready last night, and she already mSuccessfully unlocked!
