426.Chapter 426
“Allison, what a coincidence! Why don’t you join us?” Sophia offered.
Allison smiled politely. “Thanks, but I have just finished meeting a client, grabbed a coffee, and I need to get back to the office. Enjoy your catch-up. I’ll head out.”
Sophia and May flashed Allison a smile as she left. As soon as she was out of sight, Sophia casually took a sip of her coffee and dropped, “Allison told me she is into Easton.”
May almost did a spit-take with her coffee, clapping a hand over her mouth.
May blinked, totally stunned. “Wait, she actually said that to your face?”
Sophia just nodded, cool as ever. “Yeah.”
“Why would she just randomly tell you something like that?” May suddenly wasn’t feeling Allison anymore.
Sophia replied coolly, “Maybe she thought there was a chance Easton and I might get back together.
“She told me she just wanted a fair chance to compete, but I told her straight up. There’s no way that’s happening. Whatever she is thinking now, that’s none of my concern.”
May thought Allison was acting weird, but what really caught her eye was how chill Sophia was about it. The calmer she acted, the more it felt like she was covering something up.
“Sophia, don’t let her get to you. Promise me you’ll tell me if anything’s bothering you, okay?” May said, her voice full of
concern.
Sophia’s hand paused on her coffee cup for a moment.
“I won’t. Don’t worry,” Sophia said with a faint smile.

Word about the Howard family and the Quinn family’s rumored marriage alliance had been making the rounds among the rich and powerful, but neither company had ever made it public online.
Today, Ryan came back to Howard Estate, looking serious as he sat down in front of his parents. He made it clear again. He wasn’t going to marry into the Quinn family, no matter what.
Linda, his mother, put her teacup down. “This is ridiculous! You’re really going to give up the girl we chose for you, just for some nobody lawyer?”
“You’re the ones being ridiculous.” Beatrice’s voice rang out from the doorway.
Ryan saw Beatrice just back from the care home and hurried over to help her inside.
“Beatrice, what are you talking about? The Howards and the Quinns have had this engagement set up for years. Dad arranged it himself. Ryan has been living abroad, so it’s understandable he didn’t know, but how could you forget?” Linda protested.
Beatrice waved her hand dismissively. “I didn’t forget. I just remember that never agreed to it, which is why the Howard Group never made any official announcement. Back then, the one I had in mind was Forrest’s daughter, May.
“As for how it suddenly turned into the Quinn family’s daughter, well, I guess I’ll have to ask the old man myself when I see him on the other side.”
Leon and Linda were both floored. They had no idea that May was actually Forrest’s daughter.
Linda, in particular, was hit with a wave of shock and regret. She had been right there when Sylvia slapped May that day. She had thought Sylvia was out of line, but she hadn’t stepped in to stop Sylvia.
‘This is bad. What am I supposed to do now?’ she thought, panic rising in her chest.
Ryan didn’t even bother looking at his parents’ faces. He just laid it out for them. Sylvia hadn’t just pissed off Forrest; she had also crossed the one person in Jenston you absolutely do not want to cross: Easton, CEO of Foster Group.
He added, “If you’re determined to stand by the Quinn family no matter what, then fine. But if you’re not, you’d better be ready to go up against Foster Group.”
As soon as Leon heard that Sylvia had crossed Easton, he thought, ‘That girl really has no idea who she’s messing with. Everyone knows Easton is basically untouchable in Jenston.’

That evening, just as Sophia got back to Silvermuun Day, le pilote tally. It was Derrick. “Because of you, Easton didn’t just buy out the Quinn family’s entertainment company. He went all in and had Sylvia forced out of Jenston.”
