Easton suddenly froze, his eyes narrowing sharply as he heard Gordon’s words.

“What did you just say?” Easton demanded.

Easton’s glare was so intense that Gordon didn’t dare hold anything back.

“All the trending topics online are flooded with photos of Mr. Hayes and Sophia spending time together in Greenwich these past few days, and there are even candid shots of them at the photography exhibition,” Gordon said.

Easton reached out and took Gordon’s phone, scrolling through the news.

“Last night, the paparazzi caught Mr. Hayes sneaking out of Sophia’s room again. He stayed for almost an hour before leaving,” Gordon added.

Easton’s grip on the phone tightened, his knuckles turning white.

“Call Charles and tell him to get all those trending topics off the internet within fifteen minutes,” Easton ordered.

With that, he shoved the phone back into Gordon’s hands.

“Easton, are we heading to the hotel to get Sophia now?” Gordon asked.

As soon as he said it, Gordon quickly covered his mouth. ‘Why did I even ask? Of course, that’s what we’re doing; he thought.

Easton sat in the car the whole way, not saying a word. The tension was so heavy you could cut it with a knife.

No matter how many times he called, Sophia still wasn’t answering.

Derrick called Easton. “Where are you?”

Easton pinched the bridge of his nose, his voice cold as ice. “I’m on my way to bust them cheating. Think I’m kidding?”

Derrick and Gordon just said nothing.

Derrick knew Easton had definitely seen the trending topics, and he sounded absolutely pissed.

But Derrick thought, ‘What is he even trying to pull? He is just an ex now. Even if Sophia and Frank are really a thing, it’s not his problem anymore.’

“Easton, I’m warning you, don’t do anything crazy. This might just be a misunderstanding, and even if it’s real,” Derrick said.

“If it is, I’ll break Frank’s damn legs myself,” Easton snapped.

Easton tossed his phone aside. First, Sophia had gotten under his skin, and now Derrick was trying to rile him up, too. ‘Real or fake? Whatever. I never believed any of that tabloid crap anyway, he thought

“Step on it,” Easton ordered.

Gordon didn’t dare waste a second. He followed the GPS and sped toward the hotel where Sophia was staying.

No surprise, the hotel entrance was packed with reporters when they pulled up.

Frank’s car showed up at the same time, but he didn’t even dare get out. The journalists were just too crazy.

Easton had already called ahead and got the hotel manager to hook him up with exclusive access to the underground

garage.

He rode the private elevator straight up to Sophia’s floor.

He pressed the doorbell, and Sophia peeked through the peephole. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw Easton, but she quickly opened the door.

“Why are you here?” Sophia asked, still a little stunned.

Easton looked at the silly woman in front of him. “If I hadn’t come, how were you even planning to get out of here?”

Saying that, he strode right into her room and sat down heavily on the couch, while Gordon waited outside the door.

“Did you see the news?” Sophia asked.

Easton’s head jerked up, his heart skipping a beat. For a second, he was actually scared. He thought, ‘Was Sophia really going along with all those rumors about her and Frank?’

Noticing his weird expression, Sophia rolled her eyes. “That stuff online is all fake.”

Easton just nodded, his voice icy. “Yeah.”

Successfully unlocked!

“I got hurt last night, so Frank was the one who helped me back to my ou. I never thought those reporters would twist things like that. Now I’m worried it might mess things up between him and Miss Kerr,” Sophia said.

As soon as Easton heard she’d been injured, he jumped up, his face tense, and hurried over to her.

“Where did you gef hurt? What happened?” Easton asked, his voice tight with concern.

He spotted the bandage on Sophia’s hand, gently took her wrist, and examined it closely.

“Easton, that hurts. Can you be a little gentler?” Sophia whined.

Easton gently pulled Sophia over to the couch and started to unwrap the bandage, planning to disinfect and rewrap it himself.
