Sophia dug out a painting from her suitcase and held it out to Easton. “This is for you.”

Easton was still a little bummed that Sophia wouldn’t let him step in for Crestview Group, but out of nowhere, she was suddenly handing him a gift.

He couldn’t quite believe it.

“For me?” he asked.

Sophia nodded. “Yeah, just a thank-you from Angel Fund of Crestview Group.”

Easton’s mood instantly brightened, He couldn’t wait to open up the painting and check it out. “Is this the one you picked up at the Greenwich photo exhibit?”

Sophia took a sip of water and tapped away on her tablet. “Yeah, I went to the show to find some inspiration for my drawings, and I remembered you’re into ancient painting.

“The photo show was held together with an art exhibit, and they had a famous ancient painting there, so I grabbed it for you.”

Sophia figured this was her way of thanking him for supporting the Angel Fund of Crestview Group, and also a way to draw a line between them.

But when Easton realized Sophia had gone all the way to Greenwich just to get him a gift, a relaxed smile spread across his face.

He suddenly found himself at a loss for words and just said a simple “thank you” to Sophia.

Easton stared at the painting in his hands, suddenly thinking the 250 million dollars he donated felt like nothing now. ‘If I gave even more, would Sophia treat me differently, he wondered.

Sophia had no idea just how happy Easton was at that moment. She was completely absorbed in her work.

When they arrived at Windmere Estate, Bernard, the butler, was already waiting with the driver and the car at the helipad behind the house.

As they got out, Sophia quietly asked Bernard, “Bernard, has Irene seen any of the news online today?”

Bernard gave her a kind smile. “Mrs. Roth, don’t worry. Mrs. Irene Foster spent the whole day with Lucas. She hasn’t had any time to go online.”

Sophia breathed a sigh of relief. She wasn’t worried about Irene misunderstanding her; she just knew Irene’s health wasn’t great, and she’d hate to let Irene worry about her because of all this.

Easton was replying to messages on his phone when Ryan let him know that Crestview Group was fine for now. Derrick and Julian had already taken care of everything.
