Allison shook her head. “Dad, you just don’t understand. Back then, Stella was always around him. No matter what I did, he never even noticed I was there.”

“Allison, just think about it for a second. If Stella really had Easton’s heart, she would’ve been Mrs. Foster ages ago. All these years, aside from looking after her and that kid, have you ever seen him show any real feelings for Stella?” Rowen

Allison just kept quiet.

Rowen let out a sigh. “Easton’s always been a loner, cold to everyone. He’s been working with me since he was eighteen. I know exactly who he cares about.

“Even if there wasn’t much between him and Sophia before, after all that’s happened recently, it’s clear he’s fallen for her. And don’t forget, they have a child together. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never take Sophia’s place in his heart. “Sophia’s a good girl. When they got married, I met her just once, but she ended up saving my life,” Rowen added.

Allison was surprised. “Wait, Dad, you knew Sophia back then?”

Rowen nodded. “She’s a genuinely good kid. If she hadn’t caught it in time and gotten the doctor on their wedding day, I probably wouldn’t be here talking to you now.

“Allison, just drop it. Don’t even think about targeting Sophia and her kid. If you wait until things get out of hand, you’ll only regret it.

“Easton is not the type to go easy on anyone. If you keep being stubborn, even if I beg him myself, he probably won’t give a damn,” Rowen warned.

Allison kept her head down and thought, ‘Dad is just overthinking things. Stella had nothing on me.

“Sophia, how long has it been since we went on a trip together?” May asked.

Sophia thought for a moment. “I think it was when Lucas was three. You flew out to Japoria to see me, and we went skiing in Florince.”

May smiled. “Yeah, it’s been almost two years since we last went out together.”

Sophia and May snuggled under a thin blanket, leaning against each other in their seats.

“May, Easton told me a bunch of stuff about his childhood last night,” Sophia said.

Sophia told May all about what Easton had said to her the night before.

“So Easton knew you were that girl this whole time? Why didn’t he ever say anything? And Ryan, that idiot, never mentioned it to me either. Seriously, do those two ever say anything at all?” May kept ranting about the two of them.
