At dawn, the weather in Haverton was colder than even the coldest winter days back in Jenston.

Sophia got up early, got herself ready, and was already waiting in the lobby for May and Ryan to show up.

Just then, Jason called her. He told her that Virginia was really happy with her design proposal. It had been unanimously approved, and everything was set after yesterday’s meeting.

Sophia replied, “That’s great. Thanks for handling the rest.”

Just as Sophia hung up with Jason, she spotted May and Ryan walking over, hand in hand.

“Sophia, let’s go! The show at the ski resort is about to start,” May said, grinning as she looped her arm through Sophia’s.

Seeing May so eager, Sophia couldn’t help but laugh.

Ryan was driving, and he kept expecting Easton to call him.

Even though there was a two-hour time difference between Haverton and Cambul, according to his calculations, Easton should be getting ready to board his flight right about now.

Ryan thought to himself, ‘What’s taking him so long? Why hasn’t he reached out yet?’

‘With Sophia and May in the car, it didn’t seem like a good idea to call Easton right now.’ Ryan thought.

Half an hour later, the three of them arrived at the ski resort.

Ryan had already arranged for someone to escort all three of them inside at the entrance.

“May, you and Sophia go on ahead. I need to make a call,” Ryan said.

Sophia was used to Ryan’s teasing tone every now and then.

May gave her a knowing smile. “Don’t mind him, babe. Who knows if he’s doing it on purpose?” she said.

She added, “Anyway, these past couple of days, we’ve been out having fun together. If you need anything, just tell him to do it. He’s always happy to help.”

Sophia sat on the bench, strapping on her skis, and gave a small smile. “I wouldn’t dare. What if you turn around and feel sorry for him?” she laughed.

May laughed and replied, “Honestly, I worry about you way more than I do about him.”

Sophia shook her head with a smile.

May finished strapping on her skis, grabbed her poles, and stood up. “Sophia, let’s go for a couple of runs. Ryan probably won’t be back for a while,” she said.

Sophia nodded. “Okay.”

They skied together for a while, and May kept looking around, searching for Ryan.

“What’s taking Ryan so long? Sophia, why don’t you head over to the show area and catch a performance? I’ll go find him,” May suggested.

“Sure, go ahead. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine. You two go enjoy some time together. I’ll wait for you at the entrance in two hours,” Sophia said,

“Alright, see you later,” May replied.

After May left, Sophia started wandering around on her own.

When she got to the performance center, she was surprised to see Frank there, too. He was with a client, the same guy he had dinner with last night, along with his wife and a little kid.

Seeing Frank chatting and laughing with the client’s family, Sophia decided not to go over and say hi.

Just as she was about to head off in another direction, Frank had already spotted her and called out, “Hey, junior! You saw me and didn’t even come over to say hi?”

Sophia turned, smiling and nodding, “Yeah, I saw you hanging out with your client and his family, so I figured I’d better not bother you.”

Frank walked over with a warm smile. “No worries, I’m free now anyway. My client’s here with his wife and kid, and they’re having a blast together,” he said.

Successfully unlocked!

He added, “I didn’t want to be a third wheel. So, now come you’re here, alone

“I didn’t want to be a third wheel and get in the way of May and Ryan,” Sophia replied.

Frank and Sophia exchanged smiles. “How about we go wander around together?” Frank suggested.

Since Frank had already asked, Sophia didn’t feel right turning him down.

The ski resort was buzzing with people. Sophia followed Frank, and the two just kept going, chatting and skiing, until they somehow ended up at the base of the snow-capped mountain.

The scenery here was truly breathtaking.

Sophia looked out at the view, and couldn’t help but be awed by the magic of nature.
