471 Chapter 471
471.Chapter 471
Sophia set her briefcase down and gave a slight nod, “Sure.”
“Ms. Roth, I’m really sorry,” Allison said.
Sophia looked at her, puzzled. “Why are you apologizing to me?” she asked.
“I was way out of line before, talking about my feelings for Easton right in front of you and even suggesting we compete fairly. I hope you don’t take it to heart,” Allison said earnestly.
Sophia replied calmly, “Allison, there’s nothing wrong with liking someone, and wanting to compete fairly is your choice too. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me at all.”
“I’m just glad you don’t hold it against me. I was worried you might feel awkward about me because of what I said,” Allison said, watching Sophia’s eyes closely.
Sophia just gave a composed smile, her face completely unreadable.
Allison kept testing the waters, “Easton probably doesn’t know I have feelings for him. Now that you two are together, I’ll be more careful and won’t do anything that could make things awkward for you guys.”
Sophia just smiled sweetly, “Allison, you really don’t need to worry about it.”
Seeing how Sophia was completely unbothered, Allison realized that if she kept probing, Sophia might start to get suspicious.
“I’ll probably need to reach out to you often about Southern Development. It’s getting late, so I won’t keep you from your work. I’m heading back to the office now. See you next time,” Allison said.
Sophia nodded slightly, “Okay.”
As Allison walked past Sophia, she turned around, her expression instantly frosted over and her eyes grew cold.
‘Sophia is such a tough nut to crack. She knows there’s someone crushing on Easton right next to him, but she still keeps her cool and stays so graceful, like I don’t even matter, Allison thought.
That kind of attitude left Allison feeling totally defeated.
‘Is she really okay with it, or does she just not care at all?’ Allison wondered.
Allison just couldn’t believe Sophia would stay so chill and not cause any drama with Easton, even though Allison was always hanging around him.
‘Seriously, what woman could stand having another girl constantly making moves on her guy?’ Allison thought.
Allison curled her lips into a sly smile. ‘I’m going to make sure Sophia gives Easton a hard time because of me,’ she thought.
Just as Allison got into her car, her phone rang. It was Frank.
She connected her Bluetooth and answered the call as she drove off.
“Easton sent people to Haverton to look into those thugs and what happened in the village. I think he found something there,” Frank said.
Allison’s heart skipped a beat, her face going pale. “No way. I specifically told them to clean up everything before they left,” she replied.
Frank let out a cold laugh and said, “Easton probably knows what I was planning for Sophia. He’s not going to let me off easy now, but I’m not about to run and hide.”
He continued, “The Vaughn-family and I are about to get married, and Charlotte’s cousin is the new head of the Jenston Chamber of Commerce. Even if Easton can’t stand me, he’ll have to play nice for the sake of others.”
Frank explained, “No matter how powerful Foster Group is, or how high Easton’s status is in Jenston, there are always people he can’t touch.”
“But now that he’s found something in the village, he’s definitely going to be more on guard against anyone suspicious around Sophia. For now, just keep your head down and stay hidden. Your chance will come,” Frank added.
Allison watched as Sophia and Easton got back together. If she didn’t do something soon, once their relationship got even more solid, it would be too late for her to make a move.
“Sophia’s already with Easton, Mr. Hayes. Are you really okay with the woman you’ve loved for years being in another man’s bed every night?” Allison pressed.

Allison was getting worked up. Maybe it was seeny Lasion and Supina oiding hands, looking all sweet and inseparable today, or maybe it was that winner’s attitude Sophia had just shown off that really rubbed Allison the wrong way.
