472.Chapter 472
Either way, her mood was seriously dark.
Frank’s eyes narrowed for a moment at Allison’s words, but he quickly forced down his anger.
He replied, “Haste makes waste. I’ve got plenty of patience. As long as Sophia is mine in the end, I don’t care who she’s with right now.”
Allison knew she wasn’t as patient as Frank, but he had a point. She couldn’t afford to act impulsively and ruin the boss’s plans.
For now, she had to keep herself hidden and wait for the right moment to make her move.
Allison took a deep breath and said, “Yeah, I get it. That’s all for now.”
As Allison drove, her mind kept spinning. ‘How come there was still stuff left behind in that village? What did Easton actually get his hands on?’ she thought.
‘Was it those mini spy cameras? Or maybe that stash of knockout drugs?’ she wondered.
Without wasting a second, Allison called up the two villagers had stashed away in Haverton by boss. “When you left, did you clear out everything from the house?” she asked.
“Ms. Steele, we checked everything before leaving. It was all cleared out,” one of them replied.
Allison still wasn’t convinced. “How exactly did you dispose of the drugs?” she asked.
The villager replied, “We destroyed the drugs on site and flushed every last bit down the toilet. As for the mini cameras, we counted them carefully and made sure nothing was missing before we left.”
“If you don’t believe us, you can ask the person who picked us up. We already gave her all the cameras,” he added.
‘If the camera count was right, then what did Easton actually find?’ Allison wondered.
“Were you the last ones to leave?” she pressed.
The villager on the other end paused for a moment. “When we left, Mr. Hayes was right behind us,” he said.
Frank was the one who came up with the idea to set up those cameras later on.
His whole scheme was to secretly film everything that happened between him and Sophia, so he’d have something to blackmail her into marrying him if he ever needed to.
That day, when everyone left the village, Frank was the last one out. ‘Could it be that Frank left something behind on purpose?’ Allison wondered.
‘If it really was him, what the hell is he up to?’ she thought.
Frank was the kind of guy nobody could ever figure out. He looked every bit the polite, harmless gentleman, but behind those polished manners was a dangerous schemer who could hide his ambitions better than anyone.
At Hayes Group, Frank sat at his desk, his eyes locked on the tracking map on his computer screen, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
“So the real boss behind Allison is the chairwoman of Suncrest Holdings, Vivian, Easton’s mother. Well, things just got a whole lot more interesting,” Frank muttered to himself.
The mini camera Easton found in the cottage was actually one Frank had swapped in himself, pulling a switcheroo with the original cameras that had been installed in the room.
While the two villagers were busy dismantling the equipment, Frank slyly slipped in a lookalike camera with a tracker inside, grabbed one of the extras, and hid it in the corner of a cabinet.
Frank switched out the cameras because he wanted to figure out who Allison’s real boss was. He never did anything unless there was something in it for him.
Right now, Frank was stuck in Hayes Group, facing trouble both inside and out.
That illegitimate son had just barged in and snatched up thirty percent of the company’s business, and Jackson’s intentions couldn’t have been clearer.
Since he had to compete with that bastard, it was only natural for Frank to try and secure a few more powerful backers for himself.
Successfully unlocked!
Suncrest Holdings might just be the perfect choice.
As for that mini camera he deliberately planted in the room, it was nothing but a straight-up taunt from Frank to Easton.

Frank’s lips curled into a cold, predatory grin.
‘Just wait, Easton. One day, Sophia will be mine, Frank thought to himself.
