476.Chapter 476
“May, I see Ryan’s feelings for you are genuine. Please don’t let my opinions make you miss out on a wonderful marriage,” Sophia said gently.
May pulled up in front of the hotel and said slowly, “Sophia, we’ve been friends for most of our lives. You know exactly what kind of person I am. Even before I met Ryan, I was already set on not getting married.”
She added, “Meeting him was just a twist of fate I never saw coming. It’s not that you changed my mind. We just see things the same way. We both want to enjoy the present.”
Sophia knew May was always strong-willed, but as her best friend, she genuinely wished May and Ryan could have a happy ending together.
May caught the look on Sophia’s face and grinned, trying to reassure her.
“I know what you’re thinking. Seriously, don’t worry about me. Ryan and I are good, really. Let’s go already, I’m about to die of hunger here,” she told Sophia.
Sophia could tell May was dodging the topic, but she knew better than pressing her. Smiling, she just let it go and followed May quickly into the hotel restaurant.
“Sophia, look, Frank and his fiancée are over there,” May said, motioning with her chin in their direction.
Sophia followed her gaze, and just then, Frank looked up and spotted them.
Sophia gave him a quick nod in greeting, then she and May went to sit at the table they’d booked.
Sophia glanced over and thought, ‘Charlotte really is gorgeous, and she’s got that elegant vibe. You can tell she’s from a cultured family, a true lady. Honestly, she and Frank look like they’re made for each other.’
‘Way better than Miss Kerr from before, Sophia mused to herself.
May turned to check them out. “Yeah, she’s pretty impressive,” she said.
“Take a look and see what you feel like eating,” Sophia said, passing the menu to May.
May and Sophia were so focused on the menu, they didn’t even notice Frank and his fiancée coming over to them.
“Hey, junior,” Frank called out.
Sophia and May both looked up to see Frank approaching with his fiancée. They got to their feet to say hi.
“What a surprise, Mr. Hayes,” Sophia said.
Frank didn’t seem to care that Sophia no longer called him “Frank.” He just smiled and said, “This is my fiancée, Charlotte.”
Sophia and May each shook her hand.
Both greeted her with a friendly “Hello.”
“Hello, Ms. Roth. Hello, Ms. Young,” Charlotte replied.
It was Charlotte’s first time meeting Sophia, and she found Sophia totally different from what the internet said. She actually had a really good impression of her.
‘She’s absolutely stunning. No wonder both Frank and Easton fell for her Charlotte thought.
But Charlotte didn’t feel jealous at all. In fact, she actually really liked Sophia.
“Frank, Miss Vaughn, I saw your engagement announcement on the official website, but I haven’t had the chance to congratulate you in person yet. Since we bumped into each other here, how about joining us for a meal?” Sophia said politely.
Frank opened his mouth to say something, but stopped himself.
Charlotte smiled gently and replied, “We’ve already finished eating, and Frank and I have some things to take care of. We’ll let you enjoy your meal. Maybe we can get together another time.”
Sophia nodded. “Sounds good.”
Frank glanced at Sophia, watching her speak so amiably with Charlotte, and felt a wave of bittersweet emotion welling up inside.
After Charlotte finished speaking, she followed Frank out of the restaurant.
“Charlotte really is impressive in every way, but Successfully unlocked!with her. I wonder if they’ll ever actually fall for
each other.” May said.
“Honestly, marriages among the rich and powerful rarely end up happy,” May added, glancing at the menu with a sigh.

Sophia kept her thoughts to herself, not commenting. After all, it was their private business.
