478 Chapter 478
478.Chapter 478
Growing up, he’d never felt even a trace of motherly affection from Vivian; deep down, he felt nothing but aversion toward her.
To him, Vivian was just a stranger.
The buzzing of his phone snapped Easton out of his thoughts. He glanced at the caller ID, and the cold look in his eyes instantly softened.
“Miss me?” he asked.
“Yeah, I was wondering if you’re free tonight. I want to take you out for dinner,” Sophia said with a gentle smile.
Easton’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Since you called me yourself, Sophia, I’ll make time for you, no matter how busy I am.”
Sophia’s lips curved into a smile. “I’m already downstairs at your office, but I’m still on the clock, so I won’t come up. Just come find me when you’re done.”
When Easton heard Sophia was already downstairs, he quickly stood up and walked out of his office while still on the phone.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I could’ve come down to get you,” he said.
Sophia chuckled softly, “I didn’t want to interrupt your work.”
“Sophia, nothing’s more important to me than you,” Easton said.
Easton’s sweet talk always caught Sophia off guard.
They chatted for a bit, and Sophia was about to hang up. “Get back to work, then-” she said.
Before she could finish, Easton wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Sophia quickly turned around and gently pushed him away. “Easton, you scared me.”
Easton pulled her back into his arms. “Since when did you get so jumpy? You get scared so easily now. Don’t forget, this is Foster Group territory. Who else here would even think about hugging you except me?” he replied.
Sophia shot him a glare and squirmed out of his arms. “Let go of me. People are staring! Just because you don’t care doesn’t mean I don’t.”
Easton took her hand and led her into the private elevator and laughed, “If they see us, they’ll just act like they didn’t.”
Sophia ducked her head, stifling a laugh.
“Why are your hands so cold? Are you freezing?” Easton asked, holding her hand a little tighter.
Sophia shook her head with a smile. “No, I just washed my hands in the bathroom, that’s all.”
Sophia linked arms with Easton and snuggled up to him. “I think I just saw Virginia and her assistant. Their car’s parked in front of Foster Group.”
Easton wrapped his arm around Sophia. “Yeah, I know.”
“Did you refuse to see her?” Sophia asked.
Easton just nodded in response.
Sophia hugged him back, her voice gentle as she comforted him, “Don’t be upset, okay? Let’s just think about what we want for dinner tonight.”
Easton leaned down and pecked her on the lips. “Whatever you feel like eating, I’m with you.”
As Sophia walked into the Foster Group building, Vivian caught sight of her from inside the car.
Samantha asked, “Vivian, we could set up a meeting with Ms. Roth. Maybe that’ll draw Easton out.”
Vivian twirled the sapphire ring on her finger. “No rush. We’ve got plenty of time. He’ll come around eventually.”
Samantha nodded.
As the car pulled away from Foster Group, Vivian’s phone buzzed with a message. She glanced at it, a smile tugging at her lips.
“Let’s go. Frank asked to see me,” she said.
Successfully unlocked!
“Boss, how does Frank even know about you?’ Samanthasked S
Vivian smiled. “That’s just how smart he is.”
