483 Chapter 483
483.Chapter 483
Allison couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
She’d thought she was just being temporarily transferred to Cedarica to oversee some business, and she’d be back in Jenston in two weeks at most.
As for Rowen, she was planning to convince him to head back to Menolia for the time being.
She’d already mapped out everything last night.
She never expected to hear this kind of news today.
“Easton, I don’t want to go back to Menolia. I want to stay here, even if it means staying in Cedarica,” Allison said.
‘As long as I’m not too far from you… That’s enough for me, Allison thought.
Easton’s tone was even. “Rowen’s getting older, and he doesn’t want to be too far from his daughter. I hadn’t considered that before. I thought after he retired, he’d want to travel around Elouise.
“Bringing you to Jenston for a while would give you more exposure to our domestic operations, so when you go back to the Menolia branch, you’d be able to connect with the domestic side more easily.”
Allison felt like a bucket of cold water had just been dumped on her. So Easton never meant for her to stay in Jenston for good.
“Easton, I can talk it through with Rowen. I really love life here in Jenston, and I don’t want to leave just yet,” Allison said. “That’s final. I don’t want to upset Rowen. Trust me, when you head back to the Menolia branch, your role and perks will be even better than what you have here in Jenston,” Easton said.
Allison could tell Easton wasn’t budging, so she knew better than pushing her luck. No point in being too insistent and making him annoyed.
Now, with only two weeks left, she was determined to figure out a way to stay in the country before her time ran out. That afternoon, Easton was heading to a private dinner with the chamber of commerce. Even though Mason, the newly appointed president, had officially started his post in Jenston, most people in the city had never actually seen him in person yet.
There was plenty of media coverage about him online, but most of the pictures were just from his business events in other cities.
Easton arrived at the hotel with Gordon, just as Ryan’s car pulled up.
The three of them walked into the party hall together.
“Easton, have you met Mason in person yet?” Ryan asked.
Easton took a sip from his glass. “No,” he replied.
Ryan looked around the room and said, “This guy keeps a really low profile. Before he took up the post here in Jenston, he used to work over in Almere. May told me he’s kind of Forrest’s student.”
Easton nodded. “Yeah, I’ve heard about him, too. I’m kind of curious, but since he’s from the family Frank is married into, I don’t really like the guy.”
Ryan nodded.
Not many people were invited to the private dinner, but right up until the end, there was still no sign of Mason.
Ryan finished chatting with a few colleagues and walked back over to Easton. “Just heard from them that Mason isn’t showing up tonight, but there’s an unexpected guest,” he told Easton.
Easton raised an eyebrow. “Who?” he asked.
“Virginia from Suncrest Holdings,” Ryan replied.
At a private business dinner in Jenston, CEOS from outside companies wouldn’t even get through the door unless they were vouched for by someone inside the chamber of commerce.
‘If it wasn’t Mason, then maybe it was Frank.’ Easton thought.
Easton’s eyes darkened. “Looks like our suspicions were right.”
“So, is it time to put our plan into action?” Ryara Successfully unlocked!
Easton lit up a cigarette, his voice cold, “Not yet. Fin just aeus engagement to the Vaughn family, and Mason’s got his back. We can’t spook them now.”

He added, “When we make our move, we do it all the way, make sure he’s done for good.”
