484.Chapter 484
Ryan knew Easton’s game plan. Since Easton said so, he had no choice but to wait.
After wrapping up his discussions with a few business partners, Easton checked the time. It was getting late. Sophia had told him earlier that she’d be working overtime tonight.
He’d timed it just right. If he left now, he could swing by Crestview Group and pick her up on his way home.
As Easton and Gordon were about to leave the hotel, Samantha suddenly walked up to them.
“Easton, the chairman is just ahead. Do you have a moment to meet with her?” Samantha asked.
Easton’s expression immediately hardened when he was suddenly intercepted.
Gordon’s brows furrowed as he stepped forward to block Samantha’s way. “Sorry, Mr. Foster doesn’t have time. Please step aside.”
Samantha wouldn’t let up, trailing after them as she spoke, “Easton, no matter what, she is your mother. She’s reached out to you so many times, hoping to see you.”
She added, “Are you really going to be that cold and not even give her a few minutes of your time?”
Easton suddenly stopped, his face turning cold, and his eyes frosty. “Tell your boss, I’ve never had a mother, not since I was a kid. She doesn’t need to bother trying to see me.”
As soon as Easton finished speaking and started to walk away, he suddenly noticed Vivian standing a short distance away.
Vivian approached at a measured pace, and Easton’s gaze turned stormy and cold.
Vivian waved Samantha off, motioning for her to leave.
Gordon leaned in and asked quietly, “Easton, are we still heading out?”
Before Easton could get a word in, Vivian jumped in first. “Come on, Easton, it’s just ten minutes. Don’t tell me you can’t even spare that for me?” she said.
Easton stared at Vivian, his eyes dark and unreadable, hesitating for a moment.
“Gordon, go get the car ready. I’ll be out in a few minutes,” Easton said.
“Got it, Easton,” Gordon replied.
Once Gordon left, Vivian stepped up with a gentle smile. “My son, you’ve really grown up. You look way better in person than in the photos. Mom hasn’t seen you in over ten years. It feels like a lifetime.”
Easton scoffed, his tone icy, “Vivian, you didn’t call me over just to catch up for ten minutes, did you?”
Vivian shook her head with a smile. “No way. Your time’s way more precious than anyone else’s. I wouldn’t dream of wasting it.”
“Vivian, you’ve got eight minutes left,” Easton said, his tone impatient.
“Easton, you don’t have to be so guarded by me. I came back mainly to break into the domestic market. It’s strictly business, no hard feelings,” Vivian said.
She added, “Sure, I wanted to see my son, but I’m also hoping Foster Group can back me up.”
“Or maybe,” Vivian said with a faint smile, “I just want to reclaim a bit of what’s mine in Foster Group.”
Easton shot her a look of disdain. “Vivian, ever since you and my father split, Irene gave you everything you owed over
twenty years ago.
“Don’t be so greedy, always trying to get your hands on Foster Group’s shares.”
Vivian let out a cold laugh. “Easton, you’ve got it all wrong. I never got divorced from your father. Even after he died, I was still the Foster family’s daughter-in-law.
“The shares that come with that title should’ve been mine, but Irene just tried to buy me off and send me packing. Back then, I had no power, no leverage, so I couldn’t fight her. But now? Things have changed.”
Easton gave a slight nod, playing along with her words.
“Yeah, things really have changed. Your greed’s taken on a whole new level, and you’re even bolder than you used to be. But let me tell you, Vivian, as long as I’m here, you can forget about it,” he exclaimed.
through the air behind him, “You should’ve been the one to
Easton glanced at his watch. “Your ten minute Successfully unlocked! Just as Easton turned to leave, Vivian’s venomous voice sce die in Yorkland that year.”
