Easton looked up at Gordon, his anger clearly rising. “The research center never lets outsiders in. Why was such a big crowd allowed in the lobby today?” he asked.

“I just asked the front desk,” Gordon explained, “It’s the whole park’s open days, and city officials were here for an inspection. Besides our research center, there are a few pharma labs next door.”

He added, “Those agents must have taken advantage and rushed in when we opened up for the city officials’ visit this

morning.”

“Make sure everyone gets the message. What happened today is never happening again. If anyone messes up like this, they’re packing up and leaving, no second chance. And call Katherine right now.” Easton ordered.

He added, “Tell her to get to Cedarica immediately and sort out the Henton Enterprises mess. If they refuse to settle out of court, Foster Group will fight them to the very end in court.”

“Got it,” Gordon replied.

Gordon didn’t waste a second. He pulled out his phone and dialed Katherine as soon as he stepped out of the office.

Katherine invited Sophia to join her for a site visit in the Southern Development Zone today. With the final phase of the project now greenlit, Sophia was all set to start brainstorming her design ideas.

“Got it, I’ll book my flight right away and head over,” Katherine replied.

Sophia noticed Katherine hurrying back after her call, looking a bit flustered. “Katherine, is something wrong?” she asked.

“Mr. Foster ran into some trouble during his visit to the research center today, Katherine replied.

Sophia gripped Katherine’s hand tightly, her voice trembling with worry. “Is Easton okay?” she asked with concern.

Katherine patted her hand gently. “Don’t worry, just let me finish.”

After Katherine filled her in on what had happened at the research center, Sophia finally felt her nerves start to settle.

“Let me go with you, Katherine,” Sophia said.

Katherine nodded, and Sophia quickly shot Easton a message, but he never replied.

Katherine told her, “Easton never takes his phone into the lab, you know.”

Sophia slipped her phone back into her bag, and she and Katherine rushed straight to the airport. Once there, they headed for the priority lane and quickly boarded their flight to Cedarica.

Two and a half hours later, they landed at Cedarica Airport. As soon as they stepped out of the terminal, they spotted a big screen playing the news about the chaos at the research center earlier that day.

While they waited for their ride, Sophia and Katherine stood in the lobby, watching the footage for a while.

The footage was crystal clear. Sophia could clearly see Allison shielding Easton from several blows, and then Easton cradling her protectively in his arms.

Allison’s arms were locked tightly around Easton’s neck. Even though pain was written all over her face, the way they clung to each other looked almost scandalously close. ‘That’s way too intimate,’ Sophia thought.

Katherine saw the look on Sophia’s face and rushed to comfort her.

“Sophia, it was total chaos back there, and Allison was hurt. That’s probably why things looked so intense between them. Don’t let it get to you, okay?” she said.

Sophia’s mind was a total blank. She sounded way calmer than she felt as she said, “Let’s go. I just want to see him right

now.”

Sophia was so chill about it that Katherine almost wanted to give her a gold star.

Seeing Easton holding another woman, especially one who obviously had a crush on him, Sophia had to admit, it left at bitter taste in her mouth. She couldn’t deny she was feeling jealous.

But she forced herself not to let her imagination run wild. ‘Easton was just desperate to help her, that’s all, she kept telling herself.
