497 Chapter 497
497.Chapter 497
May had a date with Ryan that night. After they left the beauty salon, the two girls parted ways, each heading off to their own plans for the evening.
Sophia drove home, thinking it had been ages since she’d last visited the Roth residence to see Edward. Even though they video chatted every day, it had been a long time since she’d set foot in the house.
When Sophia arrived at the Roth residence, Annie had just gotten back from Harlinton.
Seeing Sophia get out of the car, Annie walked over and said, “Sophia, why didn’t you let me know you were coming home? I could’ve told the butler to pick up your favorite crabs.”
Sophia hadn’t seen Annie in ages, and she grinned happily, “I love whatever’s on the table when I’m home. Annie, did you just get back from Harlinton, too?”
Annie nodded. “Yeah, I came straight back after the show.”
Sophia teased, “Bet you just missed Julian.”
Annie gave a gentle smile, not denying it.
“Why did you come back alone? Didn’t Easton come with you?” Annie asked.
Sophia shook her head with a faint smile. “I didn’t tell him. He’s been pretty busy today.”
Annie didn’t think much of it and walked inside with Sophia.

over.
Sophia was in the garden with Edward, feeding the fish. “Uncle Edward, you look so much better than before. You seem a lot healthier these days,” she said:
Edward smiled kindly at her. “Seeing you and Easton so happy together really makes me feel at ease. No wonder my health’ s improved.”
Sophia lowered her eyes with a soft smile. “Guess Easton’s been hanging out with you a lot lately. Now whenever you mention him, you can’t help but smile. Not like before, when you used to call him a troublemaker.”
Edward reached out and tapped Sophia on the head. “You’re a mom now, but you still act like a little girl, always joking around with your uncle just like you did when you were younger.”
Sophia pouted. “No matter how much I grow up, I’ll always be your little girl in your eyes.”
Edward studied Sophia’s face. He said, “You know, when you were a kid, your brothers doted on you, and now Easton spoils you, too.”
He added, “It’s okay to be a little pampered, but when something comes up, you have to deal with it head-on. Especially with relationships, avoiding problems never solves anything.”
Sophia looked up at Edward, puzzled.
Edward asked, “Did you and Easton have a spat?”
Sophia froze for a moment.
Edward continued, “I can tell just by looking at you. You came home for dinner alone. You didn’t bring him along. If you two weren’t having issues, why did your face look so troubled when I mentioned him?”
Sophia instinctively touched her cheek and said, “Come on, it’s nothing like that. Easton and I are fine. I just decided to come home for dinner on a whim, didn’t even get a chance to tell him.”
She added, “Besides, I’m heading back to Silvermoon Bay tonight anyway, so you guessed wrong, Uncle Edward.”
Edward chuckled, “Sophia, I raised you. After all these years, you still can’t hide your feelings from me. Just a little twitch of your eyebrow and I know exactly what’s going on.”
Sophia let out a laugh, “Alright then, Mr. Roth, take a wild guess. What do you think Easton and I are fighting about?”
The butler, standing behind Edward, burst out laughing, “Ms. Roth, didn’t you just admit it yourself?”
Sophia suddenly realized. ‘That’s sly. Man, he re

the truth,’ she thought.
Edward patted her hand and said, “When you’re won, you have to be honest. If there’s a misunderstanding, talk it out right away.”
