The moment he finished speaking, Easton drunkenly slumped onto Sophia, his body heavy against hers.

Sophia shot a sideways glance at the man who’d passed out on top of her and couldn’t help but let out a wry smile. ‘Whenever he gets drunk, he starts spouting nonsense,’ Sophia thought to herself.

She clearly didn’t take Easton’s words to heart.

The next morning. Easton hurried out of bed and looked around the bathroom, but Sophia was still nowhere to be found. After a quick wash-up, he headed downstairs, where Myra was helping Lucas get his schoolbag ready.

When Lucas saw him, he ran over. “Dad, you’re up! Can you take me to school?” he said.

Easton kissed Lucas on the cheek and asked, “Where’s your mom?”

Myra stepped forward and replied, “Mrs. Foster left early this morning with her luggage. She’s on a business trip to Almere today.”

Myra’s words jogged Easton’s memory. Sophia had already told him at dinner yesterday that she was heading to Almere with Charlotte to check out a design exhibition.

He sat down on the couch with Lucas in his arms. “Myra, could you ask Warren to bring the car around? I’ll take Lucas to school.”

“Got it,” Emily replied.

Lucas reached up and gave Easton’s temples a little massage. “Dad, Mom told me at breakfast that you got drunk last night and said I shouldn’t bother you.”

Easton pressed his forehead against Lucas’s face. “Yeah, your mom is so thoughtful.”

He couldn’t stop wondering if Sophia was still mad at him yesterday.

He thought, ‘Did she actually say yes when I brought up marriage last night?

‘Why can’t I remember any of it?’

Lucas wrapped his arms around Easton’s neck. “Mom’s on a business trip, so you have to take good care of me these days.” Easton chuckled softly, “You bet. If I don’t look after you, your mom’s definitely going to give me an earful when she gets back.”

When Paolo dropped Sophia off at the airport, Charlotte was already waiting in the terminal.

“Charlotte, why are you here so early?” Sophia asked as she wheeled her suitcase over.

“I was entertaining my dad at a hotel near the airport last night. Figured I wouldn’t have to get up so early this morning, so I just booked a room and crashed there with my luggage,” Charlotte replied.

Sophia and Charlotte walked over to the check-in counter to get their boarding passes.

“This design exhibition is going to have a bunch of famous international designers showing off their work. From what I heard, Rothea Designs is also part of it.” Charlotte said.

“They just updated the exhibition’s official website a couple of days ago, and I happened to see it,” she said.

Sophia smiled and nodded.

Rothea Designs had only just been invited to join the exhibition a few days ago, so Sophia was already planning to check it out, even without Charlotte’s suggestion.

But since Charlotte happened to bring it up, too, the two of them/ended up going together.

“Sophia, you’re incredible! Getting selected for the exhibition hall means your work is among the top hundred designs worldwide.” Charlotte said.

“Who knows, maybe this showcase will really take Rothea Designs to the next level,” she added.

Sophia grinned, “You’re too kind. Honestly, I never expected to get in. When I was back in Japoria with my kid for New Year’ s, inspiration just hit me and I sketched it out on a whim.”

She continued, “May saw it, thought it was great Successfully unlocked! a model and submit it to the competition. I was honestly shocked when they actually picked it.

Charlotte’s eyes were full of admiration for Sophia.
