505 Chapter 505
505.Chapter 505
A week later, Rowen and Allison finally left Cedarica.
Sophia heard about it from Katherine.
But she didn’t bother with these trivial matters. She was caught up with the Bluewave Hotel project and Suncrest Holdings’ hotel chain projects in the country.
May had been working overtime with her for several days. “Sophia, why don’t you take a break? You haven’t taken a break at all. If you keep going like this, you’ll wear yourself out,” she advised.
Sophia took off her glasses and sipped her coffee. “It’s fine. Back when I was abroad, this was normal for me. I’m used to it.”
May shook her head and said, “You really are a workaholic.” Glancing at the papers in her hand, she asked, “Have you heard anything about Virginia lately?”
“No, her assistant’s been taking care of all the hotel chain stuff here lately,” Sophia replied.
“She obviously came back to go after Foster Group’s shares, but she hasn’t done anything yet. I tried to ask Ryan about it, but he wouldn’t tell me anything. I have no clue what he and Easton have been up to lately,” May said.
Sophia thought it was weird, too. Whenever she mentioned Vivian to Easton, he’d just change the subject and tell her not to worry about it.
Another thing that struck Sophia as odd was that ever since they’d returned from Haverton, even though she’d been deliberately keeping her distance from Frank, Easton still seemed uneasy.
At first, she figured Easton was just jealous, nothing more.
But as time went on, she realized his hostility toward Frank ran way deeper than she’d expected. The way he looked at Frank was filled with a kind of fury she’d never seen before.
Sophia replayed everything that had happened in Haverton, wondering if Frank had done something to make Easton so hostile toward him.
Or maybe something had happened between the two of them that she just didn’t know about.
That day in the village, Frank’s attitude and behavior really struck Sophia as strange.
All those chance encounters and getting robbed…
With so many “coincidences,” it was hard to believe they were just accidents. Maybe someone had set it all up.
‘Did Frank have some hidden agenda involving me?’ Sophia wondered.
Maybe it was a bit cynical, but you could never be too careful around people.
Easton probably kept quiet because he was thinking about her feelings, and he definitely didn’t want to get dragged into someone else’s mess and risk messing things up between them.
Once the seed of doubt was planted, it started growing faster than you could even blink.
“May, do you think Easton’s hiding something from me?” Sophia asked.
May looked up from her papers. “What do you mean?” she asked.
“Frank. I’m talking about him,” Sophia said.
“So, are you going to ask Easton about it?” May asked.
Sophia nodded, not denying it.
“If you’re having doubts, you should deal with them sooner rather than later. Frank’s got the Hayes Group behind him, and now Virginia’s Suncrest Holdings is circling Foster Group.” May said.
She added, “If Frank decides to get involved right now, it could really shake things up.”
May’s words were exactly what Sophia had been worried about.
Of course, she trusted Easton’s abilities, but there was always the chance someone was scheming behind the scenes. As for the “someone”, at this point, Sophia’s only real suspect was Frank.
After May left the office, Sophia pulled out the files from when Weston Group was targeting Crestview Group and reviewed them carefully once more.
Aside from the usual bank loans and financing, Weston Group had gotten several inconspicuous transfers, all coming in through some pretty shady channels.

But none of the money came from inside the country. Every transfer was routed through offshore temporary accounts.
