Sophia drove to the mall owned by Howard Group, where May had been waiting for her at the store for a while.

“Sophia, what took you so long? I’ve been waiting for you for half the day,” May said.

Sophia walked into the store and sat down next to May. “May, traffic’s always a nightmare after work.”

May was in a great mood as she flipped through the dress catalog. “Sophia, the style you picked is stunning. If I had your figure, I’d totally go for it, too. Maybe with a few tweaks.”

Sophia looked at the pictures in May’s hands and said, “It really is nice. From what I know, the designer actually made two versions of this dress.”

She added, “Why don’t we both try them on later? If you like it, you can have it, and I’ll pick something else.”

May waved her hand. “Nah, I know myself. I’ll stick with the lake green one. It matches Ryan’s suit perfectly.”

Sophia just smiled, keeping her thoughts to herself.

The store manager came over with two assistants, carrying the dresses, “Ms. Roth, Ms. Young, your dresses are ready. You can try them on now.”

Sophia and May followed the assistants into the fitting rooms to try on their dresses.

“Ms. Roth, you have such a great figure, and your skin is so fair. I had the designer make the adjustment you mentioned last time, and now that you’re wearing it, it looks absolutely perfect,” the assistant said.

Sophia smiled, “Your designer is amazing. I just mentioned it briefly over the phone, and she totally got what I meant.”

When Sophia stepped out in the dress, May’s eyes lit up with amazement. “Damn, you look drop-dead gorgeous! At the celebration, you’ll be the star of the night for sure.”

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh, “May, you’re too much.”

They gave the dresses a careful once-over, and since everything was perfect, had the staff pack them up for them.

After changing back into their regular clothes, Sophia and May sat in the store, waiting.

May leaned over and asked, “Sophia, has Easton mentioned anything to you?”

Sophia took a sip of water and looked at her, puzzled. “Tell me what?” she asked.

May lowered her voice, “Did you hear anything about Stella?”

Sophia shook her head and said, “No, he’s on a business trip today. How could he tell me anything? He’s probably still up in the air right now.”

May nodded. “Oh, right. Ryan had some urgent business to handle, so he boarded the plane an hour later than the others. While you were changing, he called me and said they might’ve tracked down Stella’s whereabouts.”

“She’s got some serious luck, jumping into the ocean in the middle of the night and still getting rescued. Did Ryan mention where they found her?” Sophia said calmly.

May shook her head. “Ryan said his team last saw her near the border between Haverton and Carrington.”

Sophia frowned slightly. “The border between Haverton and Carrington?” she asked in confusion.

“Yeah,” May replied.

“No wonder Easton and the others haven’t been able to find her. With all the fighting going on over there because of politics, if Stella’s hiding out in that area, nobody’s going to be able to find her,” Sophia said.

May nodded. “Ryan said they sent a bunch of people over to search, but they still couldn’t find her.”

“Easton will figure something out. I trust him,” Sophia said.

May didn’t doubt Easton’s abilities, but she still couldn’t shake her worry.

“Sophia, Stella’s not dead, and she’s missing. We have no idea who saved her. What really scares me is if she slips back into

Jenston without anyone knowing. She might go after you or Lucas,” she said.
