Sophia replied, “I know. Since she’s still alive and we haven’t found her yet, it’s only a matter of time before she tries to get back at us. We’ve always been careful.”

She continued, “We’ve never let anyone know where Lucas goes or what he does, and no media has ever gotten a photo of him. And even if someone did, Easton and Derrick always made sure those photos disappeared.”

She added, “Lucas has bodyguards with him every day for school runs, so he’s safe. As for me, Easton’s had people watching my back ever since I got back from Haverton, so I’m pretty safe, too.”

Sophia said, “Now that they’ve got a lead on Stella, I’m sure they’ll send even more people to hunt her down.”

When May heard that Easton had already arranged for bodyguards to follow Sophia, she finally felt a bit more at ease.

“Easton must’ve figured out Frank was trouble back in Haverton, so the moment you got home, he had bodyguards watching your back,” May said.

Sophia nodded.

The assistant brought over their packaged dresses, said, “Ms. Roth, Ms. Young, your dresses are ready. Thanks for choosing us.”

Sophia and May paid with their cards, grabbed their dresses, and headed out of the mall.

Fifteen minutes later, Samantha showed up at the store.

Seeing an unfamiliar customer, the manager quickly went over to greet her, “Hello, are you here to order a custom dress?” Samantha nodded, then spoke fluent Havertonian, explaining she was here to get a dress made.

The manager switched to Havertonian and chatted with her.

Samantha settled into the VIP lounge, looking through the catalog. “I like this one,” she said.

The manager was taken aback. ‘Wait, isn’t this the exact dress Ms. Roth just picked out?’ the manager thought.

‘What a coincidence, the manager thought to herself.

The manager knew how things worked in Jenston’s elite circles. No socialite ever wanted to risk wearing the same dress as someone else. So she asked Samantha a few more questions, just to make sure.

Samantha caught on to their worries and quickly said, “I’m ordering this dress for a party back in Haverton.”

The manager felt instantly relieved. ‘Good, as long as she’s not wearing it in Jenston, it’s all fine. If it’s for Haverton, even better, she thought.

The designer had made two of these dresses. One was already taken by Sophia, but there was still another one available in

the store.

“Alright, miss, please wait a moment. I’ll have my staff bring it out, and then they’ll help you try it on,” the manager said. Samantha pulled out her card. “No need to try it on, really. Can you just wrap it up? I’ve got a flight to catch back to

Haverton.”

The manager was happy to see how straightforward she was and swiped her card right away.

It didn’t take long before the staff had her dress packed up in no time.

Samantha grabbed the dress, left the mall in a flash, and headed straight for her car.

She pulled out her phone and called Allison.

“Allison, I’ve already got the dress. I’ll have someone tailor it to your size right away, so it’ll be ready before the research center’s celebration. Just come back a bit early, and you can wear it straight to the party,” Samantha said.

After Allison got back to Menolia, she stayed at a private hospital. Rowen and Elouise came to see her every day, and she always put on her best good-girl act whenever her parents were around, playing the obedient patient.

‘Lying in bed, she picked up Samantha’s call. “Thanks. Don’t worry, I’ve already booked my flight for the end of the month,

and I’ve got a perfect excuse lined up. I’ll be there for the research center’s big celebration, no matter what.”

Once she hung up, Allison couldn’t wait for the big day, feeling totally sure of herself.
