515 Chapter 515
515.Chapter 515
Frank knew Easton had left for Cedarica last night and wouldn’t be back until the end of the month Yesterday, he instructed his assistant to provide Charlotte with materials for chain hotels for reference, and purposefully explained to her some key concepts in hotel management.
Charlotte was deeply committed to the Bluewave Hotel project, always taking others’ advice seriously and thoughtfully. Following Frank’s instructions, the assistant subtly suggested to Charlotte that, to manage the hotel effectively, she should draw on the extensive experience of major chain hotels.
The first person that came to Charlotte’s mind was Sophia.
“Sophia, didn’t you guys take on the domestic chain hotel project for Suncrest Holdings?” Charlotte asked.
Sophía had just returned to her office when she received Charlotte’s call, “Yeah, I’ve been busy with the project lately.”
“The renovation at Bluewave Hotel has already started, and we’re set to open in six months. I figured I could use this downtime to check out some big chain hotels and pick up a few tips.” Charlotte said.
“I was wondering if it’d be convenient for you. If you’re heading out to check on the project, maybe I could tag along?” she added.
Sophia couldn’t help but admire Charlotte’s drive. “That’s actually perfect timing. I just got word from Suncrest Holdings that I need to head over to Duskspire this afternoon. If you’re free, let’s go together.”
Charlotte was thrilled. “No need to wait until this afternoon. I’m free right now. I’ll just run home and throw a few things in a bag, and we can head out after lunch.”
Sophia smiled and said, “Sounds good.”
An hour later, Charlotte showed up at Sophia’s office.
“Take a seat for a bit. Emily will get some materials together for me. Then we’ll grab lunch near the airport and catch the half past one flight,” Sophia said.
Charlotte nodded. “Sure, go ahead and take care of your stuff. I’ll just look over the materials here.”
Sophia hadn’t slept well last night, and today she felt a little lightheaded, with heaviness in her chest. She went to the secretary’s office to have Emily organize the materials, then grabbed herself a coffee in the break room.
She rubbed her temples, thinking, ‘I must’ve gotten used to having Easton around. Now that he’s not here, I’ve started having trouble sleeping, Sophia mused.
‘Guess I’m getting more and more used to relying on him, Sophia thought to herself.
When she returned to the office, she made a cup of coffee for Charlotte, too.
“Thanks,” Charlotte replied.
Charlotte took the coffee from Sophia and took a sip. “Did you add lemon to this?” she asked.
Sophia nodded with a smile, “I just had one myself, and I thought it tasted great.”
Charlotte took another sip. “Girl, this is way too sour.”
After that first sip, she didn’t dare take a second.
“Don’t tell me you’re pregnant or something?” Charlotte joked.
Sophia snorted, “Come on, of course not.”
Sophia lowered her head, flipping through the documents. ‘It can’t be. Ever since my period ended last month, we’ve been careful every single time. Easton does want another baby, but he knows it’s not the right moment, so he’s always responsible for it, she thought.
“Or Was it that night, when things got a little too passionate?’ Sophia wondered.
Sophia quickly shook her head. ‘No, it’s not that easy to get pregnant. Last month my period was late for days, and I thought I was, but then it showed up two days later.’ she thought.
‘Probably just haven’t been getting enough sleep these past couple of days, just like last time, Sophia told herself.
Besides, her lower abdomen had been aching a bit lately. ‘My period’s probably just around the corner,’ she thought.
Sophia just brushed it off, not wanting to overthink or worry herself for no reason.
Emily came in with the organized materials. “Ms. Roth, I’ve sorted out the Suncrest Holdings documents for you. You can go through them on the plane.”
