The assistant made sure the doctor wouldn’t breathe a word about what happened today and gave her a generous hush

payment.

The doctor was already planning to quit, so when she suddenly received such a large sum, she gladly accepted it without a second thought.

Once the assistant got into Frank’s car, he handed over Sophia’s real pregnancy test results. “Mr. Hayes, the doctor said Ms. Roth is already over three weeks pregnant. She’s pretty sensitive, so she started showing signs early.”

Frank gripped the pregnancy test results so hard his knuckles turned white, his gaze growing cold and dangerous.

“Book me on the same flight as Sophia and the others, Frank ordered.

The assistant blinked in confusion. “Wait, Mr. Hayes, aren’t you supposed to fly to Windmere tomorrow?” she asked.

Frank sneered, “I’m still going, but right now there’s something even more important I need to handle.”

Not really sure what Frank was up to, the assistant still went ahead and booked the flight to Duskspire for today, just as instructed.

After arriving at the airport, Frank headed straight to the check-in counter and got his boarding pass. He had already settled in his seat before Sophia and the others even boarded the plane.

Since the flight was crowded, it was peak travel season. Sophia, Charlotte, and a few bodyguards didn’t notice Frank tucked away in a corner seat.

Before getting on the plane, Frank shot Vivian a text and told her about Sophia’s pregnancy.

Vivian replied, telling him to come find her first. She’d take care of the bodyguards, so he wouldn’t have to worry about them. Even after seeing Vivian’s reply, Frank couldn’t shake off the heavy feeling in his chest. He still hadn’t processed the fact that Sophia was pregnant.

Frank was done waiting. If Easton found out Sophia was pregnant, they’d be back together in no time.

No way. Frank would never just sit back and watch Sophia and Easton remarry right under his nose.

When Allison saw Frank’s message, she completely lost it. She started hurling everything in her bedroom across the room.

“Sophia, you bitch! You’re actually pregnant?” Allison screamed.

Just then, Elouise walked in. “Allison, what’s wrong? Why are you throwing such a fit?” she asked.

Allison, still fuming, hobbled over to Elouise on her crutches. “Mom, please, let me go back to Jenston. I have to see Easton.”

Elouise had known for ages that Allison had fallen head over heels for Easton the moment she laid eyes on him.

She’d tried to talk some sense into her, but Allison just wouldn’t listen. Over the past year, she’d done all sorts of crazy things.

If her husband hadn’t told her about what Allison had been up to in Jenston, Elouise never would’ve believed her daughter could get so obsessed with a guy who didn’t even spare her a glance.

“Allison, please, just listen to me,” Elouise pleaded, “Easton doesn’t care about you. He’s already chosen to get back together with his ex-wife. Why do you have to get involved and make things harder for yourself?”

Allison sobbed, tears streaming down her face. She said, “I don’t care if I’m the other woman. So what if he’s back with Sophia? He’s a man. What’s wrong with him having someone else around?”

She added, “I love him, I’d give up everything for him. I don’t even mind being the woman he keeps in the shadows.” Elouise’s heart twisted as she listened to her daughter. She said, “Allison, come on, get a grip. Did you really go through all that schooling and get your law license just to end up like the other woman?”

She added, “Easton might be great, but he’s not yours. You’re not lacking in anything. You could totally find a guy who actually loves you.”

Allison lost it, flinging all the pillows off the bed.
