Easton carried Sophia into the car, and Gordon quickly started the engine.

“Sophia, don’t be scared. I’m sorry I was late,” Easton said, his voice full of guilt.

Sophia’s face was deathly pale. She glanced at Easton, but the pain in her abdomen was so intense that she blacked out on the spot.

“Gordon, step on it!” Easton shouted, his voice tight with worry.

As soon as Derrick and Eleanore found out Sophia had been kidnapped by Frank, they rushed to Duskspire ahead of time.

By the time Easton arrived at the hospital, they were already there. As Easton got out of the car with Sophia in his arms, both of them were startled by the blood on them.

“Mr. Foster, put Sophia on the bed. We need to get her into the operating room now,” Eleanore said, her voice tight with anxiety.

Easton’s eyes were bloodshot, and he didn’t say a word.

Derrick wanted to comfort him, but seeing the look on Easton’s face, he knew there was no point.

Easton was drowning in guilt. He couldn’t forgive himself for failing to protect Sophia. If he had the choice, he’d rather be the one lying on that operating table right now.

Derrick was frustrated and blamed himself, too. He’d been so busy dealing with all the Keats family drama lately that he’d ended up neglecting Sophia. Honestly, he really had no right to point fingers at Easton now.

Derrick knew that in Cambul, you couldn’t just do whatever you wanted. If Easton wanted to get rid of Frank, he’d have to make sure Frank was out of Cambul first.

The whole mess in Windmere was just the beginning. Frank was always in a rush for quick gains, and he was about to leave Jenston.

If he hadn’t suddenly found out Sophia was pregnant, he never would’ve changed his plans.

Frank’s assistant had already been caught by Fletcher’s men. Not only did he spill the beans about Frank’s plan to frame Easton for drug trafficking, smuggling, and cooking the books in Windmere, but he also exposed how Frank had bribed a doctor today.

But he didn’t dare mention that Frank was backed by Suncrest Holdings. He’d seen Virginia’s methods firsthand, and for the safety of his family, selling out Frank was a much better option than crossing Suncrest Holdings.

What they didn’t know was that Easton and Ryan had already been aware of everything Frank was up to. The moment Frank set foot in Windmere, all those charges would come crashing down on him.

Frank thought he could sneak his people into those suppliers without anyone noticing, but in reality, the whole thing was just a trap Easton had set for him.
