Allison collapsed to her knees, trembling all over. ‘Easton has already dealt with Frank. Am I going to be next?’ she thought. She was terrified. “Dad, you can save me, can’t you? Please, I’m begging you.”

Seeing his daughter like this, Rowen was torn between heartbreak and anger. He pulled out his phone and called Easton.

After Easton finished his IV drip and was feeling better, he was about to get changed and go deal with Allison when Rowen called him.

After Easton hung up, Sophia walked over to him. “What are you going to do?” she asked.

Easton pulled her into a hug. “I’ll let them go back to Menolia, but Allison has to face the consequences.”

He added, “She’ll be ruined, banned from ever practicing law in Menolia, and she won’t be allowed to set foot outside the country for the rest of her life. And on top of that, she has to spill everything Vivian’s ever done.”

Sophia stayed silent.

She knew exactly what Easton was doing. He was basically sending Allison to her doom. Once Allison rats out Vivian’s plans and crimes, even if she never leaves Menolia, she’ll have a target on her back for the rest of her life.

People always said Easton was cold-blooded, but Sophia never really bought it until now. Seeing it up close, she finally understood just how ruthless he could be.

Easton hadn’t told her about Frank yet, but Charlotte had filled her in. Sophia did hold a grudge against Frank, but more than anything, she just felt bittersweet about it all.

He could’ve had a way better life, but he just couldn’t let go of his obsession. And in the end, that obsession became his

curse.

As for Allison, Sophia kept quiet with Easton. She knew Mr. Steele and the Foster family weren’t just business partners. He was the one who protected Irene back in the day and helped save Foster Group. He was a key figure in the company’s survival.

Easton was never the soft-hearted type, but being at the top meant he was often forced to make tough calls. Sophia didn’t want to see him caught in a bind.

And she realized that letting her guard down, even just once, had almost messed everything up. Sophia was kicking herself for it.

At Foster Group, Easton was sitting in his office when Ryan walked in. It was obvious Ryan was here because of Allison

and Vivian.

“Easton,” Ryan said.

Easton tapped the ash off his cigarette. “Have a seat.”

“Mr. Steele and Allison are already on their flight back to Menolia. The stuff Allison handed over is a bombshell. Vivian’s been running all kinds of shady business in Haverton for years.” Ryan reported.

He added, “Just the human trafficking charge alone means she’ll rot in prison for the rest of her life.”

Easton’s eyes were cold. “And Samantha?” he asked.

“Honestly, I just can’t figure Vivian out. She’d poison her own son without blinking, but when it comes to her illegitimate daughter, she keeps her spotless.” Ryan said.

He continued, “Whether Samantha knows anything or not, she’s totally clean. Not a single stain from Vivian’s mess ever landed on her.”

Easton sneered, “You’re missing the point. Samantha’s her biggest pawrt. Trust me, if you expose Vivian’s crimes today, she’ Il turn around and sell Samantha to some tycoon for his amusement tomorrow. In the end, Vivian will still come out of this untouched.”

Ryan couldn’t help but want to give Easton a thumbs-up. He really saw through it all.

After Allison’s scheme crashed and burned, word got to Vivian in no time. Just as she’d always thought, Allison was a dog that would never stay loyal, no matter how much you tried to train her.

Vivian wasn’t dumb. The moment things started going south for Sophia, she’d already grabbed Samantha and hightailed it back to Haverton before anyone could catch on.

Sophia followed May’s gaze, her mind racing. ‘Why does that woman’s face look so familiar?’ she wondered.
