Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 531

531 Chapter 531

531.Chapter 531

Easton, Dexter, and the others spotted Mason at the same time.

“Easton, Mason might be Charlotte’s cousin, but that guy’s a real snake, sly, ruthless, and all about money,” Dexter said.

He added, “Back in Almere, he had a bunch of big investors behind him, and in just ten years, he rose through the ranks like he was on a rocket.”

Easton took a sip of his drink and shot him a casual glance, clearly unfazed. “Yeah, have someone keep tabs on him. Frank and Vivian have talked to him before, even if it was just small talk. Still, better safe than sorry.”

Dexter nodded.

Charlotte was with Mason and his crew tonight, so when Dexter saw Mason, he spotted her, too.

“Easton, I’ll go take care of something,” Dexter said.

Easton set his glass down. “Alright, go ahead.”

Dexter walked over to Charlotte and held out his arm for her. “Why didn’t you ask me to send someone to pick you up?” he asked.

Charlotte hesitated for a moment, but then slipped her arm through his.

“Easton just got back from Almere today and asked me to wait for him so we could come together, so I figured I wouldn’t bother you,” she said.

Dexter suddenly stopped and looked at her with an unreadable expression.

“Charlotte, just remember, from now on, I’m your fiancé. Whenever you need to go to any kind of event, big or small, I’ll be the one to take you there and bring you back,” he reminded.

Charlotte couldn’t help but think he was nothing like Frank. ‘How does he step into the fiancé role so easily?’ she wondered.

Their engagement announcement was only changed and sent out after Frank went missing, and Dexter hadn’t even returned to the city yet. Before all this, she was technically Frank’s sister-in-law.

Now, out of nowhere, she was Dexter’s fiancée. ‘Isn’t he worried people will gossip or make fun of him?’ she thought.

‘Or maybe he’s just going through the motions with this whole marriage thing,’ she wondered.

Charlotte looked up at him. “Dexter, honestly, if you’re not happy with this engagement, I can go along with you and talk to the family so we can end it without any drama.”

Dexter lowered his hand, then suddenly wrapped his arm around Charlotte’s waist, pulling her close. “Who said I’m not happy with it?” he replied.

It was only because this little girl was supposed to marry Frank that he’d so readily agreed to Easton’s proposal, giving up everything he’d worked so hard for in Windmere and Evaris

Just so he could take Frank out of the picture and make her his, as soon as possible.

Charlotte stared at him in disbelief. “You really want this engagement?” she asked.

Dexter nodded, and before Charlotte could react, he pulled her into his arms. “It doesn’t matter how you feel, even if you don’t like me yet. As long as I’m into you, that’s all that matters.”

Charlotte wondered if her ears were playing tricks on her. ‘Is Dexter actually telling me he likes me right now?’ she thought.

‘What is even happening? We’ve barely met, not even five times, for real,’ she thought.

‘Wait, he did ask if I remembered him before. Could it be that we actually met in the past?’ she wondered.

Dexter released her from his embrace, then took her hand and walked with her over to the Hayes family elders.

Jackson beamed with pride, “Charlotte and Dexter really are a perfect match. Seeing them together fills me with joy.”

Mason watched them with a dark, unreadable look in his eyes. June flashed a flirtatious smile and leaned in to whisper in ‘his ear, “Your cousin’s got some real skills when it comes to men.”

She added, “It’s only been a few days, and she’s already switched fiancés, and now they’re practically glued to each other.”
