536 Chapter 536

536.Chapter 536

Derrick set this up to protect me. Now, every new client has to go through his tech company’s vetting process before I can take on any new work.

June raised her eyebrows. “Guess my timing’s off. I should’ve come to you earlier.”

Sophia shot June a cryptic look, then said coolly, “If that’s all, Miss Jefferson, suit yourself.”

With that, Sophia left the lounge with Charlotte.

June’s lips curled into a faint smile. “It’s been a while, and you’re still just as insufferable as ever, Sophia. But don’t worry, it won’t be long before you’re knocked off your high horse.”

June hadn’t come here expecting any real cooperation. She just wanted to face Sophia directly. Since Sophia had already had Charlotte dig into her background, June figured it was better to show up in person than let her keep guessing from the shadows.

June wasn’t worried at all that Sophia would catch on to anything.

After leaving Crestview Group, June drove to her own company, Orpheus Tech.

Orpheus Tech specialized in selling fitness equipment and massage gear.

It started out in Almere, but since June was relocating to Jenston, she’d set up a new branch right inside one of Foster Group’s malls.

“Good morning, Miss Jefferson,” one of the employees greeted.

“Good morning, Miss Jefferson,” another employee greeted.

When June walked into the office, the trainees all stood up and greeted her.

June gave a slight nod and said, “Don’t worry about me. Just get back to work.”

Back in her office, her phone started ringing.

She glanced at the caller ID, her lips curling into a smile as her voice turned sweet and teasing. “Mason, are you finished for the day?” she said.

June continued, “Orpheus Tech’s store is opening in a couple of days. Are you ready?”

June twirled a strand of hair around her finger. “Of course. I’m just waiting for the fish to bite.”

“On opening day, you’d better not show your face. Your name isn’t even on the paperwork for Orpheus Tech, so if you show up, it’ll look suspicious. And seriously, don’t even hang around the mall.” Mason warned.

She continued, “Easton and Sophia are both way too clever, until everything’s locked in, don’t give them any chance to sniff you out.”

June replied, “Don’t worry. She already shot me down today, so I’ll be keeping my head down and staying far away from them for the foreseeable future.”

At Silvermoon Bay. Sophia lay beside Easton, her arms wrapped around his waist. “What do you think of June?” she asked. Easton looked genuinely baffled. “Sophia, are you trying to set me up again? Why would I have any thoughts about someone else’s woman? Honestly, I can’t even remember what she looks like.”

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh, “Mr. Foster, you don’t have to act like your life depends on it. That’s not what I meant.” Easton rolled onto his side, propping his head up with one hand, a teasing smile playing on his lips. “Then what do you mean?” he asked in confusion.

“Don’t you think June looks a lot like Stella?” Sophia asked.

Easton paused, mulling it over. “So you’re thinking Stella went to Haverton for plastic surgery, came back, and is now using June’s identity?” he analyzed.

Sophia nodded. “Pretty much.”

Easton said, “Didn’t Charlotte already look into June for you? Derrick checked her out today, too. June is really William’s only daughter and grew up in Almere.

“The travel records Derrick sent over show she’s always flying in and out of Haverton, and she’s basically a VIP at every major plastic surgery clinic there. Honestly, I never really paid much attention to her face.”

He thought for a moment and added, “But since you’re already suspicious, maybe we should dig a little deeper. That way,
