Eleanore asked, “Sophia, how did Uncle Edward’s test results turn out this morning?”

Eleanore took off her mask and said, “Uncle Edward’s been following the treatment plan really well these past few days. His blood pressure dropped a lot, and his test results looked good. We’ll probably be able to take him home tomorrow or the day after.”

Sophia nodded. “That’s great. Thanks for all your hard work.”

Eleanore smiled, “No problem.”

Derrick showed up out of nowhere, wearing a half-smirk. He said, “Eleanore is basically our family doctor now, so you really don’t have to be so formal with her.”

Sophia rolled her eyes at him. “Don’t mind him, Eleanore. Don’t be fooled by how smug he looks now. When he got his heart broken, he drowned himself in booze for three whole days.

“I had no idea what was up with him, but turns out you were the one who kicked him to the curb. Heh, I’m off to see Uncle Edward.”

Derrick lifted his hand, pretending to threaten her, but Sophia darted off before he could even catch her.

Eleanore smiled at herself and said to Derrick, “You know, Derrick, Sophia probably doesn’t realize it, but you were actually the one who got dumped by me.”

Derrick walked over and slipped his arm around her waist. “But I was way more heartbroken than you were.”

Eleanore was still on duty, and with all the people coming and going to the hospital, Derrick holding her like that really wasn’ t appropriate.

She shifted away and reminded, “Derrick, I’m still at work.”

Derrick rubbed his nose and said, “Alright, alright, I get it. Go do your thing. I’ll go keep Uncle Edward company. Just call me when you’re off work, and I’ll come pick you up.”

“It’s so close. You really don’t need to pick me up. I’ll swing by to see Uncle Edward after work anyway,” Eleanore said, sounding casual.

Derrick grinned, glanced around to make sure no one was watching, then leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

Teasing, he said, “Dr. Keats, we’re not even married yet and you’re already calling him Uncle. Are you trying to join the family early or something?”

Eleanore’s lips curled up. “I like calling him that, so I’m gonna keep doing it.”

Derrick gazed at her with a soft, doting look, gently ruffled her hair, and said, “Go on, get back to work. I’ll head inside.”

After work, Sophia left the hospital and called May. “Where are you?”

May honked her horn. “Hey, I’m over here!” she called out.

Sophia got in and buckled up. “When did you get a new car?” she asked with a smile.

“Ryan gave it to me as a wedding gift,” May replied.

Sophia nodded. “Ryan’s got good taste. This car really suits you.”

May grinned, looking super proud. “Of course! If he didn’t have good taste, he never would’ve landed me as his wife.”

Sophia smiled. “Any baby news yet?” she whistled.

May shook her head and replied, “Ryan doesn’t want kids just yet. He says he wants to enjoy being just the two of us for a couple more years.”

“That makes sense. You guys are still young, no need to rush,” Sophia said.

May sighed, “We’re the same age, you know? Lucas is already five years old. How can I not be anxious?”

They kept chatting and laughing, and before they knew it, they were already at Foster Mall.

The Orpheus Massage Chair flagship store was on the third floor, so Sophia and May took the elevator straight up.

“Hey, look at this one! It seems pretty nice,” May said, pointing at a massage chair.

Sophia checked out the features. This chair had neck, lumbar, and leg massage functions. It looked really impressive. The salesperson came over and introduced them to a few different models, each with its own set of features.

Since she’d been feeling so tired from work lately, Sophia figured she might as well buy another one for Silvermoon Bay.
