546 Chapter 546
546.Chapter 546
“She’s snapping at her team at work and even getting short with the staff at home. That’s just not like her at all. I’m really worried about her.”
Easton’s voice was full of anxiety as he said, “You think Sophia’s depressed? How could that be? I call and video chat with her almost every day, and she always seems totally normal when we talk.”
Julian rubbed his temples and replied, “I was surprised too. When Annie told me, I didn’t really believe it. But after seeing her today, I can tell something’s seriously wrong.”
Easton grabbed his coat and hurried out of the Foster Group’s Menolia office. HE said, “Alright, I’m booking a flight now. I’ll be back as soon as I can. You and Derrick keep an eye on her for me.”
“Yeah, don’t worry, we will,” Julian assured him.
After hanging up, Easton called Gordon right away, telling him to take care of the rest of his work and make sure Lucas was looked after.
Lucas had just signed up for an art exchange program, and Easton didn’t want anything messing with his studies, so he decided to fly back to Jenston alone to be with Sophia.
“No problem, Mr. Foster. Lucas’s program wraps up in four or five days. Once it’s done, I’ll book another flight and bring him home,” Gordon assured him.
“Thanks, Gordon. I owe you one,” Easton replied.
At the airport, Easton called Dexter and said, “I’ve got everything set up on my end in Menolia, so you can start your part right away. Keep a close eye on what’s going on in Haverton and with Mason.
“If anything comes up, give Fletcher and Derrick a heads-up right away.”
“Got it, Easton,” Dexter replied.
Easton was really worried about Sophia. He’d just called to tell her he’d be back tomorrow, but she didn’t show any excitement at all. Something was definitely off.
Menolia was having bad weather, and the airport had just announced there’d be delays. He might not make it back to Jenston until really late, maybe eleven or midnight.

Sophia had just returned to Silvermoon Bay after having dinner at the Roth residence.
Walking into the empty house, she suddenly felt a wave of sadness. It reminded her of those days after the wedding, when Easton left Jenston the very next morning, and she was stuck alone in this big house.
She was so scared and lonely back then.
Sophia thought, ‘Easton never liked me. He even hated me.’
All those memories came rushing back, and all that pain just crashed over her. She sank to the floor and started crying. The maid had just come out of the kitchen and was shocked to find Sophia in tears on the floor.
“Mrs. Foster, are you alright?” the maid asked, her voice full of concern.
Hearing someone call out to her, Sophia realized she’d lost control for a moment. She quickly wiped away her tears and let the maid help her to her feet. She said, “I’m fine. Don’t breathe a word of this to anyone, understand?”
The maid nodded and said, “Yes, Mrs. Foster.”
Sophia hurried upstairs and rushed into the bathroom.
She stepped into the shower, letting the water run over her from head to toe, feeling numb. She kept asking herself, ‘What’s going on with me lately? Why can’t I sleep? Why do I keep snapping at people, and now I’m just breaking down in tears for no reason?
‘Is it happening again? Is my depression really coming back?’
After her shower, Sophia opened her nightstand and grabbed her old antidepressants, the ones she used to rely on. She just took two without a second thought.
Sure enough, she drifted off a little easier than usual, but she still woke up halfway through the night, lying there wide awake until morning.
The next day, Sophia forced herself to act normally with some makeup as she headed into the Crestview Group. Julian and Derrick seemed to think she was fine and didn’t keep staring at her like they had yesterday.
