Nora noticed Sophia was still a bit tense, so she sat down beside her. She said, “Ms. Roth, it’s okay. Don’t be too nervous. This is just our first meeting, so let’s just chat and get to know each other.”

Sophia gave a faint smile and said, “Okay.”

Nora was very professional. Knowing that Sophia was an interior designer, she started the conversation by asking about Sophia’s work.

Sophia spoke with confidence about her field and even pulled out her phone to show Nora some of her earlier projects. Nora listened closely. After about ten minutes, she picked out one of the projects Sophia wasn’t satisfied with and offered some thoughtful feedback.

Sophia realized that even though Nora was a psychologist, she actually had some pretty sharp insights into design. Sophia welcomed outside feedback on her work.

Then, Nora made a point to say at the end, “Ms. Roth, when I compare your current projects to your earlier ones, it seems like your creative inspiration has hit a bottleneck. Could it be because of your recent insomnia?

“Or maybe something in your relationships is affecting you?”

As soon as Sophia heard Nora’s words, her feelings surged again. Yeah, the thing that had been bothering her most lately was her work: nothing she did felt right, and her mind was just empty. She couldn’t imagine anything at all.

Sophia thought, ‘As for the relationship… that dream last night felt so real.’

Nora could see that Sophia wasn’t in a great place, so she spoke softly, “Ms. Roth, take a deep breath. Just relax and talk at your own pace. Speak from your heart, use your own words; whatever you’re really feeling.

“And don’t worry, everything you say here stays between us.”

Sophia looked up at Nora. For some reason, she just trusted her. She nodded slowly.

She opened up to Nora about both her work and her relationships.

When it came to work, Sophia could usually keep things balanced with her professional skills. But as soon as she started talking about her relationships, her emotions started to spiral.

Sophia realized she was getting more and more worked up, her chest tightened, and she struggled to catch her breath. Instinctively, she hit the massage chair’s soothing button.

Nora sat beside her, keeping a close eye on Sophia’s reactions. She made a mental note of how Sophia’s mood gradually settled once she turned on the massage chair.

For three days straight, Nora came to Silvermoon Bay at the same time each day, keeping Sophia company and chatting with her while Sophia relaxed in the massage chair.

After three days of counseling, Sophia was feeling much better. With Easton by her side every day, she’d actually been sleeping well these days.

Sophia suggested to Easton that she go back to work the next day.

Easton had already checked with Nora, who agreed it would be good for Sophia to return to work, spend more time around her coworkers and team, and see how things go.

Easton agreed.

For the next couple of days, work went pretty smoothly for Sophia, and she barely lost her temper.

That night, Easton told her he had a big meeting with people overseas and would probably be home a couple of hours late. He told her not to wait up and to go ahead and eat first.

Sophia said okay and asked the housekeeper to keep the soup warm so it’d be ready for Easton when he got back.

After her shower, Sophia noticed Easton still hadn’t come home, and his study was empty. She flopped onto the massage ‘chair with her tablet and started watching random videos.

Before she knew it, she’d dozed off.

Those strange dreams kept haunting her mind, and Sophia found herself sweating across her forehead.
