553.Chapter 553
Easton didn’t even need to guess who was behind this. Even though Orpheus Tech Corp wasn’t officially under. June or Mason’s names, it wasn’t hard to uncover the connection between them.
Sophia woke up that morning feeling groggy, her head still fuzzy. Noticing Easton was already gone, she freshened up, changed into some comfy loungewear, and headed downstairs.
As soon as the maid saw Sophia coming down, she hurried over to help her. The maid asked, “Mrs. Foster, are you feeling any better?”
Sophia nodded and said, “I’m fine. Where’s Easton?”
“Mr. Foster is in the kitchen,” the maid replied.
Sophia walked into the kitchen, still a bit puzzled. She saw Easton in his loungewear and an apron, busy at the stove. She said, “Easton, I’ve known you forever and never seen you cook. What’s the special occasion today?”
Easton turned around, spotted Sophia, washed his hands, dried them off, and gently pulled her into his arms.” You’re awake?” he said.
Sophia looked up at him, feeling guilty. She said, “I’m sorry for scaring you last night.”
Easton kissed her forehead and said, “Thank goodness you’re okay.”
Then Easton took Sophia’s hand and led her to the dining room. He said, “I made some simple foods for you. Give it a try.”
The maid brought out the food, and Sophia was stunned to see the table packed with dishes. She said, “These are simple foods? Easton, this is a full-on party.”
Easton smiled and said, “Just help yourself to whatever you like.”
Sophia felt like Easton seemed different today. After they finished eating, she linked arms with him and strolled through the garden. “Is there something you want to tell me?” she asked.
Easton gently brushed a stray lock of hair from Sophia’s forehead. He then said, “Someone messed with your new massage chair and put something inside.”
Sophia was sure the bodyguards had checked the chair when it was installed and found nothing suspicious. She thought, ‘How did something slip through?’
Easton saw the confusion on Sophia’s face and explained patiently, “Whoever did this was really sneaky. They didn’t put in any listening devices. Instead, they installed a chip that messes with your mind.
“That’s why you’ve been having trouble sleeping and feeling so restless lately. Every time you used the chair, it sent out hypnotic signals that messed with your head.”
Sophia was shocked. She asked, “Who did this?”
Easton wrapped his arms around Sophia and said, “If I’m right, it was June, or, rather, it was Stella.”
Sophia looked up at him and asked, “Did you find out the truth about June?”
Easton nodded and said, “We don’t have hard evidence yet, but we’re almost there. I suspect the real June was killed by Stella and Mason back in Haverton.
“Stella took on June’s identity on purpose, just so Mason could come back to Almere and snatch everything from the Jefferson family.”
Sophia got what Easton meant. Stella and Mason were thick as thieves, pulling all kinds of dirty tricks. There was no question that William’s death was fishy, too.
Easton kept most of it from Sophia. He just made sure she had round-the-clock bodyguards. Now that everyone was onto June actually being Stella, it was time to kick things into high gear.
After all, Mason was definitely working with Vivian. As long as those threats were still out there, the Foster family and Sophia would never get a moment’s peace.

553 Chapter 553
Easton told Sophia to stay home and get some rest for the next few days.
Charlotte knew Sophia was sick, so she and Emily were taking turns bringing Sophia’s work to Silvermoon Bay every day.
Today, Emily and Paolo were with Derrick at a meeting at the Maritime Authority.
There was an urgent document from Rothea Designs, so Charlotte took the car Dexter had arranged and headed to Silvermoon Bay.
“Sophia, are you feeling any better today?” Charlotte asked.
