554.Chapter 554
Sophia gave a small smile and nodded. She said, “I’m fine, really. Sorry for making you worry. I’m getting better now. Honestly, ever since I stopped using that massage chair, I’ve felt a lot better.
“But Easton still isn’t completely at ease, so he wants me to keep seeing Dr. Garrison for a few more days.
Charlotte followed Sophia into the study and sat down across from her. She said, “That’s good to hear. Now everyone can finally stop worrying about you.”
“Yeah, don’t worry. I’ll be back at work in a couple of days,” Sophia said.
Just then, May knocked on the door and walked in. She said, “I figured Charlotte would be here. I saw Mr. Hayes’s car parked outside.”
Charlotte started to get up to greet May.
“No need to get up, just stay seated. We’re all friends here. No need for that kind of thing,” May said, never one for formalities.
Charlotte smiled and said, “Alright.”
May handed Sophia a file and said, “Babe, I pulled some strings with my father’s team and went through a ton of trouble to get this first-hand info. I haven’t even shown it to Ryan yet. I brought it straight to you.”
Sophia opened the file and started flipping through it, her eyes growing wider with every page. She asked, “May, how accurate is this?”
“About eighty percent,” May replied.
Sure enough, ever since June last came back to the Jefferson family from Haverton, everything had changed. It wasn’t just the people inside the company; even the long-time clients and suppliers had been swapped out for businesses that were always tight with Mason.
Charlotte wasn’t the nosy type. She figured May and Sophia might be talking about something important, so she felt a bit out of place and decided to leave.
But Sophia and May didn’t see Charlotte as an outsider at all. In fact, with her help, things might go even smoother.
They asked her to stay and gave her the rundown. By the time they finished, Charlotte’s palms were slick with
sweat.
Charlotte said, “So what you’re saying is, June might actually be Stella. Stella had plastic surgery to take June’ s place. With William gone, she just took over everything at the Jefferson Group.
“If we want to prove she’s not the real June, we need her DNA. But she’s holed up in Almere with a bunch of bodyguards. It won’t be easy to get close to her.”
Sophia nodded and said, “It’s tough for us, but not for you. You’re Mason’s cousin and Dexter’s fiancée. If you organize a family gathering, you could get her DNA sample without raising any suspicion.”
Charlotte got the idea, but since William passed away, June hadn’t come back to Jenston at all. If they wanted to have a family dinner, it’d have to be June who suggested it, and they’d have to go all the way to Almere. Charlotte paused to think. Then, she said, “Sophia, let me handle this. I’ll talk to my grandpa and see if he can make a trip to Almere soon. If he goes, Mason definitely won’t object, and June will have to agree and host him anyway.”
Sophia knew Charlotte was the kind of person who always had a plan. This was something only she could pull off, so she could only count on Charlotte.
“Sophia, even though Orpheus Corp isn’t officially under June’s name, we did a deep dive into their records and found that one of their brands’ partners is actually a subsidiary of the Jefferson Group,” May said.
Sophia thought, ‘I bet Easton’s already onto this, too.’
Right on cue, as soon as May finished talking, Sophia’s phone buzzed: Easton was texting her.

Charlotte sat there, her fists clenched in fury. She said, “I never imagined Mason could lose his mind like this.
Sophia, May, even if you two hadn’t asked, I’d still do whatever it takes to get June’s DNA sample.
“I refuse to just sit back and let them hurt anyone ever again.”
