Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 83

83 Chapter 83

83.Chapter 83

Stella cast a sidelong glance at Sophia, who’d been silent the whole time. “Ms. Roth, you really do have an eye for style. That dress in your hand is simply stunning. Shame for you, though, I’ve got my sights set on it too.”

Saying that, she tossed her VIP card onto the counter. “I’ll take this one. Maybe you should go find something else that suits you.”

May’s temper spiked. “Stella, are you serious right now? You can see we were about to pay, and you still have to swoop in and snatch it?”

Stella smirked, her tone dripping with smugness. “Yeah, I’m snatching it. What are you gonna do about it?”

Sophia stopped May with a quick gesture and then whipped out her phone and paid for it before anyone could react, scanning the QR code at the counter.

“Ms. Weston, flashing your VIP card might look fancy, but until you actually pay for it, the dress isn’t yours,” Sophia said coolly.

With that, Sophia-cool as ice-picked up the scissors from the counter, snipped the dress into scraps with crisp, deliberate moves, and tossed the ruined pieces right at Stella and Minnie’s feet.

“You want it? Too bad, not happening. I’m petty. I don’t play nice. Unlike you, always putting on that generous act. Even if I don’t want something, I’d rather rip it up and toss it than let anyone else walk off with it,” Sophia said.

“Sophia!” Stella shouted.

“Tsk, tsk. Ms. Weston, try not to lose your cool in front of all these people. Gotta keep up that perfect image of yours, right?” Sophia taunted, sarcasm clear in her voice.

Stella instinctively glanced at the cashier, biting her tongue and holding back the tantrum she was ready to throw.

Sophia just smiled, shook her head, and pulled May away.

Stella watched them leave, her hands balled into fists at her sides, resentment surging in her eyes.

Once they were out of the store, May grumbled, “What a damn mess. The more I think about it, the angrier I get. If only we had some proof, she wouldn’t have the guts to mouth off in front of us like that.”

Sophia’s gaze turned icy as she calmly dialed a number on her phone. “Did the info I sent before help you out?” And then she continued, “Alright, I’ll be waiting to hear your good news.”

May shot her a puzzled look after she hung up. “So, what’s the plan?”

Sophia just smiled, her eyes cold. “Besides Easton, her career is all she cares about, right? Well, I’m gonna make sure she gets a taste of what it feels like to have someone snatch her spot right out from under her.”

After leaving the mall, Stella went straight back to the TV station. She had a prime-time news broadcast tonight, specially arranged for her by the boss.

Stella had just sat down at her desk, going over tonight’s news stories and rehearsing her script, when her assistant burst in, knocking in a panic.

Annoyed, Stella shot her a glare. “What’s happened? Why are you so frantic?”

“Stella, the station manager just cut you from tonight’s live broadcast,” her assistant said, voice shaky. Stella shot up from her chair. “What the hell? We just locked everything in during the meeting yesterday. How can they just kick me off last minute like this?”

Her assistant stepped closer, lowering her voice. “Looks like the station manager’s wife caught wind of what’s been going on between you and him. She’s blowing up at him in the office as we speak.”

Stella’s fingers dug hard into her palm, her face draining of all color.

The assistant added, “He’s totally keeping quiet-hasn’t admitted a thing.”

#3 Chapter 83

No way he’d confess. Everyone at the station thought she belonged to Easton. If he ever let the truth slip, even if he wasn’t scared of his wife blowing up and divorcing him, he’d still be terrified that Easton would come down on him hard.
