Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 88

88 Chapter 88

88.Chapter 88

Sophia clung to Easton like he was her lifeline, her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, while he held her just as close.

“Are you okay?” Easton’s deep, charming voice sounded right in her ear.

Sophia panted, slowly opening her eyes. Then she saw clearly that the one who’d saved her was, beyond question, Easton.

Their bodies were pressed together, with Easton wearing nothing on the top but his shirt.

A blush instantly spread across Sophia’s face.

“I… I’m fine,” Sophia said.

Easton just kept his gaze locked on her, and Sophia could feel the heat in his eyes as if something inside him had just ignited.

Sophia’s heart skipped a beat. Just as she tried to pull away, Easton’s hand tangled in her hair, his other arm wrapped firmly around her waist, drawing her tightly against him all over again.

Then, Easton bent down and kissed Sophia. The kiss crashed down on her like a sudden thunderstorm- leaving her breathless and utterly stunned.

Sophia’s eyes flew wide open, her palms pressed nervously against his chest.

“Easton…” she breathed.

Easton’s kiss was feverish, hungry-he claimed every breath that belonged to her, unable to get enough.

Sophia was stunned for several seconds, her mind wiped clean, forgetting even how to push him away.

In the hush that fell between them, the wild heat of their hormones filled the air, making them forget everything and everyone but each other.

It wasn’t until Sophia felt the sudden shift in Easton’s body that she panicked, shoving him away with all her strength.

“Easton, you have to calm down… We can’t do this,” Sophia breathed.

She thought, ‘No, it can’t go on like this. If I don’t clear my head now, something really bad will happen.’

Sophia took a shaky breath, trying to steady herself. She quickly broke free from him, made her way to the steps, and once out of the water, threw on her bathrobe and rushed away.

Easton lingered in the water, watching her walk away. For a moment, he was completely dazed.

He wondered, ‘What did I just do? Why do I always lose control around Sophia?’

Back in her hotel room, Sophia rushed straight into the bathroom, turned on the cold water, and stood under it, hoping the icy stream would snap her out of it.

She thought, ‘Am I insane? How did things get so out of control with Easton? He almost went even further… God, the craziest part is, I actually wanted it. What the hell is wrong with me?’

She shook her head hard, as if that could knock some sense back into her, and then she suddenly remembered, ‘Wait, I had wine at dinner. That’s it. This is just the stupid alcohol messing with my head.’

Sophia smacked herself in the face, desperate to shake herself awake.

The next morning. Annie had come back not long after Sophia finished her shower last night, and the two of them ended up chatting in bed until the early hours. With everything weighing on her mind, Sophia barely managed to get any rest at all.

She went to the company with dark shadows under her eyes.

May had come to Crestview Group to handle some work, and when she saw Sophia, she was genuinely surprised.

“Did you go out stealing last night or something?” May teased.

Sophia, feeling a little nervous, reached up to touch her face and then put on a serious expression. “I was up late talking with Annie, and with a bed that wasn’t mine, I just couldn’t get used to it. So I barely got any sleep.”

May nodded. “Looks like you and your future cousin-in-law are getting along pretty well. When you told me she and Easton are cousins, I was worried it’d be a little awkward between you two.”

Sophia smiled. “Of course not.”

She thought, ‘But now, even just hearing Easton’s name is enough to make my head hurt.

May said, “Here’s the first draft of the sales contract for Crestview Group’s October project-Grandview Estate. Take a look and let me know if there’s anything that needs to be added.”

Sophia took the contract from May and lowered her head, reviewing the document carefully, making sure not to miss any details.

“Where’s Emily?” May asked.

Sophia, still scribbling notes on the contract, replied, “Emily’s at a meeting for me at the Maritime Authority this morning. She won’t be back until noon.”

May nodded. She said, “There’s a business dinner tonight before the Grandview Estate launch, put together by the suppliers and investors. I ran into Julian when I came in.
