92 Chapter 92
92.Chapter 92
“Where’s Sophia?” Easton’s voice was so cold that it could freeze the air.
Gordon said nervously, “She should be at the police station by now.”
Easton grabbed his coat and stormed out of the office, his steps quick and urgent.
When they reached the garage, Easton didn’t let Gordon drive. He slid behind the wheel himself. As soon as Gordon finished buckling his seatbelt, the car shot out like an arrow loosed from a bow.
Right then, Gordon was totally convinced of one thing. He thought, ‘Looks like Mr. Foster really cares about Ms. Roth. And maybe…
Sophia and May had just finished helping Emily with the hospital’s procedures-getting evidence, bloodwork, and treatment. With police officers accompanying them, they headed straight to the Jenston Police Station in
a cruiser.
Those reporters had been on their tails since the moment they’d left the hotel.
The whole thing spiraled out of control because those shameless media outlets stirred up trouble. The public was convinced it was Sophia who’d gotten hurt, and that was what fueled such a frenzy all across the city. But Sophia had no time to worry about any of that. Right now, her anger was burning out of control. All she wanted was to rip Nicolas to pieces.
Sophia and May both knew that from start to finish, Nicolas’s real target had always been Sophia. It was only because they had grabbed the wrong person tonight that innocent Emily ended up hurt.
Sophia was drowning in guilt and rage. May understood exactly how Sophia felt. She kept holding Sophia’s hand tightly, doing her best to comfort her.
When they got to the station, the police told Sophia to stay out front, while May went with Emily into a back room to go over everything with the police.
After Nicolas got hauled off by the police, Catherine didn’t just call their lawyer. She also reached out to Stella. “Your brother’s in trouble. As his sister, shouldn’t you at least be here to help him?” Catherine said.
Stella had never gotten along with her brothers, and ever since she uncovered the truth about her own origins, she couldn’t stand even being near Catherine anymore.
She ended up moving out of the Weston residence years ago.
“What could he have possibly done? Maybe he just hooked up with some random celeb again,” Stella sneered. Catherine was fuming, but with George standing nearby, she kept her voice low.
She said, “Sure, he slept with someone, but this time it was Sophia’s secretary. Now she’s filed a police report, accusing your brother of assault, but he swears he didn’t do it, and I absolutely believe him.
“Hurry up and see if you can pull some strings, talk to someone with influence, and make sure they don’t frame your brother for something he didn’t do.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she hung up.
Stella froze in shock. She thought, ‘Wait, Sophia’s secretary? Seriously?’
She was fuming inside. ‘Damn it. Nicolas always drags the family into this kind of disaster. No way. If this goes public, what will Easton think of our family?
‘I may not care about them, but I definitely have to watch out for myself. If word gets out and the Weston family’s reputation tanks, good luck marrying into the Foster family-especially with Irene calling the shots.’ After mulling it over, Stella realized she had no choice but to head to the police station herself. Maybe she could use her connections and bail Nicolas out of trouble.
Sophia sat waiting on a hallway chair just outside the interrogation room, when she suddenly sensed movement. A couple of police officers were leading in a man she’d never seen before.

As he entered, his gaze locked onto her, and his eyes never left her even as he walked right past.
Sophia felt it was weird, but chose not to react and simply ignored him.
When the Weston family arrived at the station, they found Sophia sitting there all alone. George kept his calm, while Catherine and Stella gave her matching looks-cold, hostile, like she was the enemy.
Sophia spotted them from a distance, her gaze turning icy in an instant. She stood to face them head-on, staring them down with zero hesitation.
Just then, people started filing out of the three interrogation rooms one after another.
